I thought it was time I re-introduced myself and what services I offer!
For those of you who don’t know me my name is Jade Read.
I’m 29 years old and a single mum to Luca, he’s almost 4 🥰
I’ve struggle with my weight most of my life, ADHD along with a few mental health conditions being depression and anxiety.
At 14 my mother died and this exacerbated my mental health conditions and I put on a fair bit of weight.
Eventually I turned to drugs, not having a proper support system to navigate my way through life without a mother and I ended up in and out of refuges and on the streets.
At 18 I got clean from ice.
At 20 I found my outlet the gym and I haven’t looked back! The mental resilience, confidence and empowerment training has given me is second to none 💯
I started Muay Thai and eventually moved over to boxing and believe me when I say the discipline this sport gives you is crazy!
So I decided to get qualified as a PT and embark on a journey of helping people through what helped me 🥰
After having my son I stacked the weight back on and understand how hard postpartum weight-loss is and that postpartum depression is unforgiving.
Since having my son I have also had an amateur boxing bout and train mostly women in boxing, I believe it’s a great tool for self defence, empowerment and mental resilience.
I’ve found the way to help quiet the mind and our demons is through physical exercise!

Fueling your workout correctly with a balanced meal that includes protein, fats, and carbohydrates is essential for several reasons:

Energy Availability: Carbohydrates are the primary source of energy for your muscles during high-intensity workouts. They provide readily available fuel that can be quickly converted into energy (glucose) to power your muscles and sustain endurance.

Muscle Repair and Growth: Protein is crucial for muscle repair and growth. During exercise, especially resistance training, muscle fibers undergo stress and damage. Protein consumption post-workout helps repair these fibers and supports muscle recovery and growth.

Sustained Energy and Endurance: Fats are a concentrated source of energy and provide sustained fuel during longer workouts. They also help regulate hormone production and support overall cell function, which is crucial for optimal performance.

Optimal Performance: The combination of all three macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, and fats) ensures that your body has the necessary nutrients to perform at its best. Carbohydrates provide quick energy, protein supports muscle repair, and fats provide sustained energy and aid in nutrient absorption.

Recovery and Adaptation: Proper nutrition not only fuels your workout but also supports recovery afterward. Consuming a balanced meal before training ensures that your body has the nutrients it needs to recover efficiently, adapt to the workout stress, and improve over time.

In summary, including protein, fats, and carbohydrates in your pre-workout meal or snack ensures that your body is adequately fueled to perform optimally, recover effectively, and adapt to the demands of your training regimen. This approach not only enhances performance but also supports long-term progress and overall health.

🌟 Confessions of a Mompreneur 🌟

My morning workout? It’s called running after my toddler who thinks my laptop is a drum set.

Business calls are a delicate balance between sounding professional and hoping my kid doesn’t suddenly shout “poop!” in the background.

My to-do list is like a game of Tetris—trying to fit in tasks between snack time, nap time, and “Mommy, look at this!”

Sugar free V isn’t a luxury; it’s a survival tool!

My office? It’s wherever I can find a quiet corner amidst the toys and laundry piles.

Multitasking? It’s a superpower. I can negotiate deals while making PB&J sandwiches at lightning speed.

Meetings? Sometimes they involve explaining why I have drawings all over my paperwork or proposal.

Procrastination? That’s when I binge-watch “Paw Patrol” with my little CEO instead of tackling emails.

“Me” time? It’s scheduled between bedtime stories and dreaming about the next big idea.

The best part? Seeing my kid’s proud face when they tell everyone, “My mum runs her own business!” Or ‘’Mummy you have Clients today!’’

Let’s talk menstrual cycle 🩸

Today I woke up 2kg heavier and feeling bloated, this is solely water retention as I’m a few days out from my period and completely normal girlies!

Training during your menstrual cycle can be influenced by hormonal fluctuations and how you feel physically and mentally. Generally, it’s good to adapt your workouts based on how you’re feeling. In the follicular phase (beginning of your cycle), you might have more energy and strength, while in the luteal phase (later part), you might feel more fatigued or experience water retention and bloating.

Listening to your body and adjusting intensity or types of workouts accordingly can help optimize your training throughout your cycle 🔄

Some strategies to help manage bloating during this time include staying hydrated, reducing salt intake, eating smaller, more frequent meals and avoiding gas-producing foods.

No cook time everything just gets chucked into a bowl!
Perfect for anyone on the go 👌🏼

600g Woolworths roast chicken
500g coleslaw mix
100g changs fried noodles
48ml changs crispy noodle salad dressing

Serves 4
Calories 492
Protein 34g
Carbs 33.9g
Fat 23.3g

I mix everything in a bowl and add dressing when served so the salad doesn’t go soggy 😋

Single mums often face unique challenges when it comes to maintaining a fitness routine. Some common struggles include:

Limited Time: Juggling childcare, work, and household responsibilities leaves little time for exercise. Finding time to fit in a workout can be challenging, especially when there’s no one else to help with childcare.

Financial Constraints: Gym memberships, fitness classes, and personal trainers can be expensive, making it difficult for single mums to afford regular exercise options.

Lack of Support: Without a partner to share duties or encourage them to prioritize their health, single mums may feel unsupported in their fitness journey.

Fatigue and Stress: Single mums often experience high levels of stress and fatigue, which can make it hard to find the energy and motivation to exercise.

Guilt: Single mums may feel guilty about taking time away from their children to exercise, especially if they’re already stretched thin trying to balance work and family responsibilities.

Despite these challenges, there are ways for single mums to prioritise fitness and incorporate exercise into their busy lives. It’s also important for single mums to be kind to themselves and recognise that taking care of their health is essential for both themselves and their families.

Where should you position your feet when leg pressing?
Well this all depends on your goals and what muscle/s you’re trying to build 🦵🏼
Foot placement to bias a certain muscle is really underrated 💯
A slight outward turn of your feet can make the world of difference for range of motion and will help you achieve desired depth👌🏼
