2020- WINTER TOUR
My next tour begins on Monday, 20th January and I'm getting excited !
I'll be happy to swap the heat and humidity for a some cooler weather. Although it's predicted to be around -30C in Calgary next week! However, we will be quilting around a crackling fire, warm and cosy inside. But then we'll venture outside to go dog sledding, sleigh riding, admiring the ice sculptures on Lake Louise, checking out the wolf dogs' winter habitat, watching the ice climbers tackle the Ice Falls at Johnston Canyon. Not to mention High tea at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and taking a dip in the Banff Hot Springs, just for fun!!
Canada is fabulous in all seasons. Join me next year !!
What a fabulous time we had in Canada for the 2019 Spring Tour !
It was animal overload - even got to see that elusive moose.
There were grizzley bears at Lake Louise and black bears along the Icefields Parkway. Lots of deer in Banff and squirrels galore! The quilt workshops were fun and the visits to the quilting guilds were fabulous too. It rained on the first day of the Festival of Quilts at Heritage Park in Calgary, but the second day was spectacular. All in all, one of my best trips ever !!
Well, it's just a week to go before flying out for the 2019 Spring Tour!
So looking forward to meeting a new Quilt Guild in Canmore and visiting the Cochrane gals again.
We have packed Show and Tell and Aussie fabrics to share with the guild members and by the look of the snow earlier this week, we'll need a complete range of clothes !!
I'm taking Monica and Alaura Poole Patterns to show the Canadians -they're just gorgeous!
Will keep you posted as we tour around.
Final planning for 2019 Spring Tour going on. I love getting it all sorted so we'll have a great experience of the wonder that is the Canadian Rockies !!

- I went with Debbie on this about 3 yrs ago and we had a ball. Great tour guide & lovely places to stay and going off the beaten track was an extra bonus. Thanks Deb. Wonderful memories.
Workshop at Heritage Park on May 25th is coming together for the 2018 Spring Tour. Canadian Quilter, Bev Patkau is doing a Heritage Park Collage and we can't wait !!
Only a few more weeks to go before we are off on the 2018 Spring Tour !
Winter was great in Canada !
Cold and crisp and absolutely beautiful.
Still haven't seen a moose -but certainly saw inside a number of fabulous quilt shops!! and I found a new one in Kimberley BC.
Lake Louise Ice Sculptures didn't disappoint, nor did the Ice Castle sitting on the frozen lake.
A terrific holiday !
Wishing all my RMQT friends a very happy Christmas and a New Year filled with quilting ideas !!

We have arrived home after a fabulous Summer Tour! The flowers, both wild and potted were just glorious- and everywhere!! Grass was the greenest I had ever seen it. Sunshine and summer clothes were out and we loved it!! I even got to see a moose -all be it in a Wildlife Sanctuary. That doesn't really count though!! Dorothy and the girls loved the scenery and the quilt shops and especially the time we spent with the ladies from the Canadian Quilting Guilds. The Canadian girls were totally inspired by Dorothy"s Thread painting and Chris's fabulous award winning quilts.
Addie's Quilt Shop in Cochrane and Sugar Pine in Canmore were a hit as well as Katja's Quilt Shoppe in Kamloops. I even found out about a Quilt Cruise to Alaska that I could attach to my 2016 Spring Tour in May, if anyone is interested??!!!
The inaugural Summer Rocky Mountains Quilting Tour is only 4 weeks away!! Looking forward to showing the girls the best mountains in the world! the friendiest quilters in the world and lakes and hikes and great food and fun times!!!
Pre Cruise tour is full, but there are vacancies for the post cruise tour.
For both tours, I have added a drive up the Icefienlds Parkway and a couple of days in Jasper, Maligne Lake, Miette Hot Springs.
Same price as the Winter and Spring Tours.
Come join the fabulous Alaskan cruise and the Post Cruise Tour!!
News just to hand! I have devised 2 Custom Summer Tours to bookend Dorothy Clee's Alaskan Quilting Cruise in September of this year.
The first 'Pre Alaskan Quilting Cruise Tour' is fully booked, but I have vacancies for the Post Cruise Tour, which is from the 11th of September till the 24th September.
These itineraries are similar to the Spring Tour but include the Icefields Parkway and Jasper as well.
The Summer Tour #2 starts and finishes in Calgary.
If you would like to know more about the Alaskan Quilt Cruise, go to "Crafting Cruises - Dorothy Clee and Chris Dowell Alaskan Quilt Cruise." Hope to see you there!!
So, a friend and client from the Spring Tour managed to source a Wolf panel for me whilst she was on her Alaskan cruise, following our Rocky Mountains Tour in June. This is the finished back!
Now it on to the quilting!!!
