I work with people to resolve stress, internal conflict, addiction, past emotional experiences, anxiety, depression and post traumatic stress.
I’ve dedicated my life to studying human behaviour. This includes the way we act and the way we interact; the way we think, the experiences which led to that thinking and where that thinking may lead to. I teach emotional intelligence, the fundamentals of psychology, the neuroplasticity of the brain and, importantly, how to rewire it.
I teach the scientific aspect of the mindbody connection and
"Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans."
Heed these words of advice by my friend, John Lennon.
The time is now, people.

Huh? True!
We are each innately driven to fulfill our own needs. Some of us have our needs fulfilled by doing things for other people. When we serve others, we feel fulfilled, ourselves.
So are we doing those things for them, or ourselves? 🤯
And so is it ok if we go around life doing things for ourselves, and everybody else benefits in the process?
Seems like a win, if you ask me. ❤️
Want to figure out how to create calm?
Or, are you interested in an alternate way to process emotions?
Or even looking for an inspiring way to spend you Friday night?
This Friday. 9th. 2hours. Yin + Meditation.
Be the best version of you. 😌🙏
I read this on LinkedIn. How it makes my heart cheer when people find the blessings in their tough experiences… later deeming those experiences to be worthwhile! 💝
“In 2011, at 5am I found myself locked in my bathroom, crouched on the floor, calling my parents urgently needing help as my abusive ex-husband was raging around my home. With the exception of several court appearances, that was the last time I shared a physical space with him.
Today, at 5am I found myself sitting in Brisbane airport waiting to board a flight to Sydney where I am facilitating first responder specialist domestic violence training to a group of people I have never met on behalf of Challenge DV. This might sound odd, but I am so grateful for what I experienced all those years ago. Was it tough? Yes. Was it scary? Yes, was it worthwhile? Yes. Did it change the course of my life? Absolutely.
I am now one of a growing chorus of voices of survivors who are working to create change. The personal growth we experience is immense. The emotional and psychological challenges are at times all consuming BUT we have turned near tragedy into triumph.
Together we will make the world a safer place for women and girls. .dv “

Ever wondered why stars twinkle? ✨
As starlight travels to our eyes, what we see is the effect of the Earth’s atmosphere on the final few kilometres of a journey that might have taken thousands of years. Our atmosphere has warmer and cooler patches that refract light differently, and these cause a disturbance in the beams of starlight. We see that as twinkling.
The magic is real.
Thank you yet again for filling my head with so much good juice!
Yes. This. 🙌
We can compound our own stress by the simple nature of stressing over the fact that we are stressed. Or, even funnier, stressing in anticipation of being stressed! (A personal favourite 🤣).
Or... we can welcome the feeling of stress as an emotion that is currently circulating - a part of this experience.
That is not to say we’re welcoming the cause of the stress. It is to say we’re not waging an internal fight with our own feelings.
. .
This is the practice of Yoga Nidra iRest that I facilitate. We create a safe environment to feel specific feelings, one at a time. The live-streamed 6 week program starts tonight. You are welcome to join.

A holly tree will alter the growth of leaves on lower branches to be sharp and prickly to stop deer from eating them. The leaves further up the tree, far out of reach, remain smooth edged. (Thanks )
I'm impressed and gob-smacked by nature all over again. 🤯
Nature grows. Nature adapts.
You are part of nature.
And this is why it's important for us to find a juicy challenge in life! Find your deer! *CHOOSE* your challenge to ignite growth and adaptability on your terms. 💥

Stress levels drop after 12 minutes of chanting.
I've just starting stalking a fellow Macquarie University student who recently completed her PhD in the benefits of chanting.
Here's a bite-sized 1.5minute clip :
Blows my mind every time 🤯
~ ACCEPTANCE ~
It doesn't mean roll over and say yes to everything.
It means:
* Acknowledging that this is the way someone, or something, is
* That they don't need to change just because it doesn't suit you
* Not wishing life were some other way. This IS how it is. Let's figure out what to do next.
* Freeing you from anger, resentment and bitterness
What it ISN’T:
* Defeat
* Thinking you need to stay in a situation
* Sitting down and doing nothing
* Feeling helpless to what is
You can be in a crap situation and wish it would change. OR... You can be in a crap situation and accept that it's a crap situation, then make decisions about how to change your situation.
Moral of the story: Acceptance does not equal doing nothing. Acceptance is freeing, not confining. 🦋
For me, as long as I'm learning, teaching and writing, let me work forever!
These three things are what I want to do when I'm not working. 👈THAT'S THE KEY! 💥

Dirty talking on a Monday!!! I LOVE IT!!!

This is also
It’s not just a lack of circulation, it’s what happens when the blood returns - in total disregulation.
I’m still doing my cold showers every day. I certainly haven’t seen a difference to my but it has changed the way I relate to the cold. And that’s been worthwhile in itself.
When we were a fetus and our brain was starting to develop, our teeny little neurons start migrating throughout our brain to find their ultimate destination. To do this, they needed guidance.
The brain is incredible. It provides two different types of signals as a way of guidance... positive signals that attract the neuron in one direction, plus repelling signals from the other side. Both signals are needed to steer the neuron precisely into its position.
Does this sound familiar? Like this is still the way life works? Things we like, things we don’t like, both helping us make decisions about where we go in life?
‘Negative' experiences in life, negative people, negative whatevers... they're here for you. They're here for you just as much as the positive experiences are. They both make up your steering system. They ARE what guides you through life.
Ooft… 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Friday night art exhibitions with my stand-in husband
My response to a friend who is feeling nervous about standing by her values and calling out discrimination.
What reaches within and grabs our voice of reason needs to be said out loud. If we stifle what we believe in, that inner voice gnaws at us from the inside. Who knows where this internal gnawing leads to — symptoms are very personal.
Let it out baby! Better to have outward discussions where you can respectfully exchange views, rather than inner conflict yelling at you from the inside.
With respect, let it out.
Open conversation, exchanging ideas and expanding each others' thinking. This is what Sangha looks like.
Although.... this Saturday, I have to admit that there won't be a fireplace or hot chocolate. Those luxuries are reserved for our retreats 😉
This Saturday evening, I'm opening the doors to anybody who would like to listen or join in on the conversation about Science vs Spirituality. What's the difference?

Uni classes over. Switch headspace. It’s time to work on my memoir.
And, this is how “we” edit. Together. 😻
…and these two loonies from our retreat 🤣😂😮💨🤪
Those retreat vibes…. 🧘♀️🙏
If you'd like to come and discuss "Science vs Spirituality. What is the difference?", I would love for you to join me.
No right or wrong, just one big discussion for those who want to join in, or for those you simply want to listen and let their own thoughts churn.
