Klennet Carver is a software to recover fragmented image and video files when a filesystem ( in this case a raw image) is badly damaged and standard data recovery tools do not work. It's very CPU and RAM intensive

Even with a 16 core CPU and 128gb of ram it's going to take about 4 or 5 days to complete.

The cooling system is holding up well. CPU and RAM is at 100% utilisation and around 60 degrees Celsius

Local shop managed to ruin a $2000 phone

Some of the worst workmanship I've ever seen. I'll start by saying there's many ways to cut corners when it comes to repairs and this one definitely was done in a hurry 🤣

Had this iPhone 14 Pro come in today needing rework done because of dodgy repairs at another shop. Customer tells me not longer after they got it back the back glass cracked again and the battery swelled up. They sent it to Apple for repairs. Apple denied and sent it back (obviously)

After taking a closer look inside I found multiple glass shards poking the battery and even yellow Kapton Tape covering up a puncture in the battery. This is very dangerous. They've obviously used too much heat when removing the glass. Safest way is to disassemble the entire phone. The Wireless charging coil was damaged as well as they're missing magsafe magnets plus the torch was barely hanging on.

They want me to fix it and to write a report 😅.This shop sends customers my way when they can't do certain jobs. Awkward! 😂

This will be my 3rd time this month writing reports about this one place. It's time they give up.

Custom water cooled PC in for data recovery and maintenance.

This custom water cooled rig came in with a boot error. We cleaned ,drained and disassembled the cooling system so we could get to the components to see what was happening. Turns out the SSD was failing, after recovering the customer data to a new SSD, replaced a few o-rings, refilled the loop we did some leak testing and it's all working great again.

iPhone 15 pro back glass replacement in Sierra Blue

This repair was denied by Apple after our customer sent it to them for repairs. They were out of warranty and were happy to pay Apple but Apple still refused saying the device had "unauthorised modifications". The phone had barely been used and the only damage was to the rear panel.

Today is our Last Trading Day for 2023!

The team at George’s Tech Repairs would like to thank all of our amazing clients for another wonderful year. This has been our best year to date having taken on another employee whilst we grew and expanded our services into the data recovery and digital forensics space.

Having worked tremendously hard throughout the year the team will be taking a much deserved break over the Christmas and new year period.

Our last day for trade will be Friday 22nd of December and we will re open again on Monday the 8th of January 2024.

Over this break period you can still send enquiries through to the page, the online enquiry page on our website and or leave messages on our work phone however, please be mindful that we will be taking this time to recharge and spend quality time with friends and family and these messages won’t be strictly monitored, as such delayed responses should be expected.

Another dead macbook back to life!

After some troubleshooting we found this machine had a faulty USB-C Controller which you can see is marked with "CD3215C00Z". The pic is a before we replaced it. Of course I forgot to take an after pic 😅

Interestingly, each USB-C Port on a MacBook has its own controller and if one is bad the whole unit won't power on

USB Flash drive data recovery. This one had a wooden case with hot glue holding it all together. The wooden case was cracked and the flash memory was separating from the board.

This PCB was an odd one. The PCB had a TSOP-48 layout but the memory looked more like a SD card. After running about 30 x 0.1mm enamelled jumper wires it came alive and we extracted 100% of the data 👌🏻

We’re open from 830-530 all weekdays and Saturday’s 9am to 230pm. After hours and weekend services by appointment.

Our prices are set on a per repair basis. We’re not like other stores, which do blanket pricing and try to make up ends elsewhere. What we do is inspect your device, determine the best course of action including parts. Then we work with our partners in the parts business to source the exact parts you need. You even have a choice of OEM or aftermarket if you like.

We order parts on an as needed basis generally. This ensures you get a fresh part, with warranty, and has a lot of life in it. As this is our approach, turn around times vary with repairs needed. Sometimes this can be as simple as a 20 minute quick fix, or a 2 week wait for parts and a 2 day repair. Remember, our prices reflect market rates, we never price gouge or seek to exploit the misfortunes of our community.
