** OH NO **

Our servers have been down this week!

Which means we were unable to receive any emails or visits to our website!

We're so sorry to any of our lovely families that emailed us or tried to visit our website this week to arrange a memorial.

We've just finished fixing the issue but unfortunately we won't be receiving any of those lost emails, as they're now floating around in space, never to return...

If you're not sure if we received your email or not, please follow up with another email or phone Lachie - just to be safe.

Many thanks for your understanding,
Lachie & Nickie

Installation at Thorak Cemetery 💙

30/07/2019

Last month, we worked closely with a family, to find the perfect rock and design a beautiful bronze plaque for a well respected and much loved, member of our Darwin community.

We installed the beautiful local porcellanite rock memorial at Thorak Cemetery.

Our hearts are with your family and friends, today and every day.

We can create almost any type of memorial, to really celebrate the life and personality of your loved one 🌟

Our website has a small sample of headstones, bronze plaques, and natural rock memorials we have installed ✨

Our team is here to help, whenever you need 💛

Love is stronger than death even though it can’t stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can’t separate people from love. It can’t take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger than death.

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief… and unspeakable love.

We just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the families who trust us to create memorials for your loved ones.

It really is an honour to help you create something that celebrates and reflects who they were and how they lived.

Big love to all the mummas who have lost a child, never got to be mums and for the girls and women who have lost their mums 💜

Mother’s Day is such a special day for so many of us, but for too many it is a tragic reminder of loss.

Show a little love this week to our sisters/friends/women who carry pain in their hearts 💜

Today is International Bereaved Mother’s Day. It’s always the Sunday before Mother’s Day.
It always seems so much harder for many the lead up to Mother’s Day with posts and marketing material every where we look.

Let’s leave a heart for all the
mummas who have lost a child, never got to be moms and for the girls, the women without your mum we too wish you love too ❤️

I really resonated with this and I whole heartedly believe that we should all be taught more about grief and how to carry it 💗

People may go through many different emotional states while grieving. The first feelings usually include shock or numbness. Then, as the person sees how his or her life is affected by the loss, emotions start to surface.

The early sense of disbelief is often replaced by emotional upheaval, which can involve anger, loneliness, uncertainty, or denial. These feelings can come and go over a long time.

The final phase of grief is the one in which people find ways to come to terms with and accept the loss of their beloved.

21/04/2019

Keep your offers simple or practical, when talking to people grieving over the holidays.

If you want to do more than ask how someone is doing, you could offer to drop off groceries, bring over a hot meal, or watch their child/ren. These kind of gestures can ease stress and show someone that you really care.

20/04/2019

Your willingness to cherish old memories and create new ones will provide so much comfort to a loved one who is grieving.

Focus on small moments where you can genuinely connect, rather than looking for opportunities to talk them out of their grief.

Some gentle advice on how to support people through their grief during the holidays this Easter.

Don't force someone to enjoy the holidays...

Supporting someone who is coping with tragedy or loss during this time of year doesn't mean you need to make them feel full of Easter Long Weekend cheer.

Instead, your goal could be to accept whatever Easter experience they want.

No big family dinner for them? No worries.

No chocolate eggs for breakfast? Totally fine.

Do they want to skip religious service this year? Absolutely OK.

The best thing you can do, is follow your loved one's lead and try not to push your ideas of what you think they need.

Big love always x

Want to know how to be there for someone who is grieving over the holidays?

A lot of the time people don’t know what to do, but social support and caring support can make a huge difference. Way more than you realise.

We encourage you to not obsess over saying the right thing.

Far too often we don't reach out to people who've experienced loss because we're convinced the wrong words will cause more pain.

But not reaching out at all can be equally or even more hurtful. An email, text message, DM, card in the letter box, or FB message that acknowledges their loss and asks how they're doing can make all the difference in the world.

16/04/2019

Although grief is described in phases or stages, it may feel more like a roller coaster, with ups and downs that make it hard to feel any progress in dealing with your loss.

You may feel better for a while, only to become sad again. Your grief is unique and individual to you, be gentle and kind to yourself and take one moment at a time.

13/04/2019

Grieving is painful, and it’s important that those who have suffered a loss be allowed to express their grief. It’s also important that they be supported throughout the process.

Each person grieves differently. The length and intensity of the emotions people go through varies from person to person.

11/04/2019

Grieving involves many different emotions, actions, and expressions, all of which help people come to terms with the loss of a loved one.

But grief doesn’t look the same for everyone. And, every loss is different.

08/04/2019

No one likes to talk about death. It's confronting, awkward, emotional and scary.

But what if we talked more about an experience we will all go through?

In our house we talk about life and death. We talk about the people that love us and what we would like our family to do when we are gone.

I will donate my organs, my brother knows the music I want played at my funeral, my sister knows the flowers I want, my husband knows I want to be cremated, my Mum knows the type of dress I want to wear and my kids know I will ALWAYS be in their hearts, they can talk to me all the time and I will hear them.

Chat with your loved ones or write them a detailed letter, I know it's uncomfortable but grief is hard enough to navigate, without trying to guess post death wishes.
