Introducing the Essington Digital Integration Project for 2024! This transformative initiative will revolutionise teaching and learning with cutting-edge technology in our classrooms.
This term, Ms Leanne (Year 4) and Ms Natasha (Year 1) led the way with new iPad class sets. Ms Leanne's class began to delve into sustainable food sources and design an augmented reality experience, while Ms. Natasha's students began to create an interactive video showcasing their superpowers of kindness, care, and compassion.

The Essington School community were treated to some top notch performances in our final week of term, including our magnificent Junior School Dance Extravaganza.
We had the privilege of watching some dazzling performances filled with fun, excellence, and incredible talent on display. A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers and Royal Existence Dance Academy for their unwavering support in making this event a success!

It was a pleasure to meet with Principal Paul Nyhuis, Hannah and Board members Carol and Vicki from The Essington School recently and hear about the great things they are doing.
Paul and Hannah come to the school with a wealth of experience and are long term Territorians.
It is extremely important for our teachers and principals to feel valued in a school environment and the energy from this team was amazing.
I wish them all the best in the future of development at Essington school.
Last Thursday our students were treated to a fantastic performance from the Australian Army Band of the 1st Brigade.
The band played all the latest hits and had us on our feet dancing and singing along to our favourite tunes.
A huge thank you to the band for coming to The Essington School and putting on an end of term concert for us. What a wonderful way to wrap up a busy Term 2!

The Essington School provides an exceptional Early Years program for all Darwin families for children aged 2-5 years old.

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Payroll and Account Receivable Officer to permanently join The Essington School finance team on a full basis with an immediate start.
The primary responsibilities of this role are to perform the end-to-end processing of payroll on a fortnightly basis, the day-to-day processing of financial transactions and timely follow-up with outstanding debtors.

This week at The Essington School has been all about our Athletics Carnivals!
Year 3 - 6 Athletics Carnival was held on Wednesday. Our students' participation throughout the day was excellent and competition was tight amongst the houses with many lead changes.
The inaugural Junior King of the Track and Queen of the Track feature races showcased the amazing speed of our 10 fastest sprinters in our finale, We congratulate Hannah Davies and Jordan Kafkas for taking home these events!
The Wickham Skinks led for most of the day, but the Flynn Geckos pulled ahead in the end, finishing with 1682 points. The Wickham Skinks came in second with 1540 points, and the Gunn Frillies took third with 1502 points.
It was our Seniors turn on Thursday with Year 7 - 12 stepping up to the start line. The Flynn Geckos were in front for most of the afternoon, but the Gunn Frillies clinched a narrow victory in the end.
The senior King of the Track and Queen of the Track, were a highlight, with Alicia David crowned Queen of the Track and Nokutenda Chitopo crowned King of the Track 2024.
A special moment was the Year 12 Lap of Honour, as this remarkable cohort celebrated their final Athletics Carnival.
In the final scores, the Skinks took home the victory flag, with the Geckos in 2nd place and the Frillies in 3rd. Congrats to everyone! 🏆🎉
Our Carnival Week wrapped up this morning with our Pre-Transition - Year 2 superstars out on the track and in the field giving their all. The kids had a blast getting active, and their smiles were priceless.
A big thank you to all our teachers, as well as our amazing Sports Captains and Prefects, who helped out this morning and throughout the week.
Our current House Shield points has the Frillies in the lead on 5905 Points, the Geckos in 2nd place with 5692 points and the Skinks trailing on 5611.
Our next Coffee Date is on next Tuesday, 4th June!!

The Essington School Year 10 students had an incredible three-day camp experience last week.
The camp is specifically designed to complement the Year 10 HPE course, giving students the responsibility of organizing and preparing their own food and gear for the trip.
They enjoyed activities such as fishing, swimming, and camping at Tumbling Waters, Litchfield, Berry Springs and Barramundi Adventures Darwin.
On Monday, May 27th, The Essington School Transition welcomed Lesley from Wildcare Inc NT to speak about her role as a volunteer caring for injured and orphaned wildlife in the Top End.
Lesley shared her experiences of looking after baby wallabies and possums at her home before transitioning them to another caregiver for eventual release into the wild.
The children learned valuable facts about protecting our wildlife and had the chance to meet two of Lesley's current orphans: a baby possum and a baby wallaby.
