DENNIS & PURUNTATAMERI TIE FOR NT FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

Palmerston's Matt Dennis and Tiwi Bombers' Jason Puruntatameri have tied for the NT Football with Jackson Clark Player of the Year.

Dennis has been easily the best ruckman all season, dominating for the Magpies on plenty of occasions throughout the season. Dennis works hard and possesses great skills for a big man and is one of the favourites to win Sunday night's Nichols Medal. I can't think of a better, more consistent ruckman that I have seen in the NTFL.

Puruntatameri has had his best season in the NTFL after being a very-handy player over the past decade. If the league kept statistics for running bounces, Puruntatameri's numbers would be off the chart. He reads the play brilliantly, skills and decision making are superb and does not receive enough credit for how good he is defensively. A superstar.

Again, unfortunately there is no prize money this season but I've already received some interest for next season, so I might have to retroactively reward these two men a gift in the future.

We would like to promote something a little different here on our sport and social club page.

We are looking for some special donations and hope all can share the post.

As you may or not be aware reading in indigenous communities can be far below the national standard accepted throughout Australia.
One of the reason's for this can be the lack of accessible reading material available.
Many of our young people are missing out on the JOY of reading.
Along with school here on Melville Island the place we have the privilege of calling home at this time, Pirlangimpi
We would like to kindly ask that if you have a children's book that is no longer used in your home anything from a picture book for the very young to teenagers you may wish to donate to an indigenous community we would all be very appreciative.
If you love reading like we do and want to share that with our young ones in community life and would like to donate to our children and their school please send to our address

Local Darwin lad, does the clubs and pubs in Darwin.
He cant wait to come and visit Pirlangimpi being a local, hopefully (of course he will) he will love it and come more often and bring lots of friends to perform in the future.

This is Jodie Minniecon from Pirlangimpi Store with her healthy nutrition merchandising display that she created for Diabetes week.

Today Jodie has also completed her Certificate II in Retail qualification. Congratulations Jodie and great work!

The club needs someone to work the bar and the bistro tonight if the club is to open. Call in and see michelle dean or diane if you want to work tonight. Noone wants to the club will have to close and we dont want that ☺
