Happy World Teachers' Day, and a huge thank you to our dedicated Alawa teachers and staff, who go above and beyond every day for the students and families of Alawa.

Alawa students shine as they confidently share their thoughts on learning, teaching and the value and importance of student voice as key stakeholders in their learning journey. Huge thanks to John Cleary for including the Alawa perspective in this video he initiated, filmed and produced to share at the Teaching Awards at Parliament House recently.

Excitement and anticipation filled the air this morning as staff and students returned to Alawa for the fourth and final term of 2024.

ALLElympics highlights.

Only one more sleep until the ALLElympics. Today you could feel the excitement in the air as the whole school gathered in the quadrangle for one final rehearsal. Please see the Alawa Primary School FB Group for details of the night and food stall price lists.

The Year 3/4's have returned from their fun filled, 2 day camp to the Territory Wildlife Park. After a successful start with tent set up, the students then spent their time exploring the park, learning about our native wildlife, participating in teambuilding games, an obstacle course, art sessions and fun ball games. Thankyou to our staff for your efforts and organisation in the lead up and over the two days. Also, a massive thank you to our parent volunteers, your help is always hugely appreciated.

The school was abuzz this morning as our 3/4 students and staff prepared for their big camp. They all worked together to get all the tents and equipment onto the buses where our legendary parent helpers stacked it all into place. Have the best time campers, we can't wait to hear all the stories about your trip! 😁🏕

This year's Children's Book Week theme is 'Reading is magic' and the magic and creativity inspired by books and reading was on full display this morning at our Annual Book Parade which was hosted by Mrs Barnett and our SRC students.
