We have reasonably exciting news…..HCC has done a deal with the evanescent Kerry Wong to take over candle making.
Kerry Wong will blend, design and deliver a fabulous line up of fragrant soy wax container and pillar candles that are always a treat for home and gift giving, with a side serve of fun.
One thing will remain, gorgeous glass jars, quality soy wax, signature fragrance.
Gone will be House Candle Co.

Crafted up this small custom order today, this colour palate features clear, white, black and rose gold jars, it’s possibly my absolute favourite 😍

I’ve been meaning to make one of these jumbo jars, well for years. Finally got one done ☑️ it’s only 1300ml of soy and fragrance, can’t wait to see that the wicks are the right number and size 💜

Finally got a test burn going for some new crystal vintage jars, it’s been a while and the good news is suppliers are not so out of stock of everything 🌸

The good old twinkle sprinkles test burn 🔥 did good, maybe one more test with a bigger wick to see if I can get the sprinkles to burn into the soy wax ✅

Finally sealed this stunning two tone cheese board, special thanks to my amazing wood stylist, John for keeping me in supply of these gorgeous custom made creations 🙏🏻

The reason I test burn a made candle in any new jar.
You gotta get the burn speed/wick right and it can be a combo of wick size, wax and container diameter.
The suppliers give ‘recommendations’ which need to be checked, as in this jar the wick size is too small, resulting in ‘tunneling’ which is gonna waste half of this delightful candle.

I managed a bit of everything today from resin boards to candle refills. With some raw materials starting to roll thru from the suppliers I will have some happy candle customers! Thanks everyone for being supa patient!

Over the past few months you have probably heard me make comment around the out of stock situations which has been making supply quite a challenge. This is still the case, however if one is quick in seeing the re-stock emails and one gets their order in pronto a few items are flowing thru.
So I have been able to take some time to weigh out wax and reprice candles and refills, yep wax, fragrance and freight costs have all gone North.
Refill prices below, prices are inclusive of soy wax, wick, fragrance.

To clean you jar heat the last of the candle in the oven and pour residue into the bin, not down your sink, then wash in hot soapy water. HCC candle wax will wash up nicely, however other candles may leave a sticky residue that requires extra washing (chemical/paraffin).

I love to find a jar that can be re purposed into a candle 🕯 this baby is a ‘test’ to see if the wick speed will work effectively on a jar that has a closure effect top. Here’s hoping it works, especially for my pickle lover friend, who will be eating a lot of pickles/olives if it’s a ✅

I am loving these new skull canisters, I ordered a few to test drive, but now the question is are they a keeper or not? 🖤💀

Today seems like a good day to see if I still remember the science to re-making the ever popular GIANT candle ❤️

Today was special in the candle kitchen. Some days I just get to make pretty candles in pretty glass jars, and somedays I get asked to do custom creations. I get to create candles for celebrations, love, victory’s and remembrance. Lucky I didn’t have Kerry Wong hanging around today as the outcome and custom labels may have been, well a little different! Sending these sweeties along with a gals favourite hot sweet beverage, created by Yallingup Coffee out this week 🖤🐾🐶😘☕️

Candle creations by that crazy cat Kerry Wong are still smelling fantastic, despite how nutty that girl is 😜 she knows how to blend a scent! There are still a few available if anywong wants to enjoy these fragrances by KW at home 🌸
