Hey there 👋 It’s about time for an overdue reintroduction. There are many new faces around here (welcome), and looking back, I have had a few hair style changes since my last introduction post, and I barely recognise the old me!
I’m Sarah, a deeper thinker, feeler, creative soul and proudly q***r woman living in the South West of WA. I value and respect individuality and authenticity, and I am a community minded person.
I have naturally gravitated towards careers that enable me to share my passions with others despite being an introvert 🫣 I am a full-time educator, founder of in Dunsborough where I teach Yoga, Meditation and share the beautiful gift of Sound Therapy, and I am a practicing Artist
I know… it sounds like a lot, I hear that often! 😂 If I am being honest, sometimes it is a challenge to balance work and business and still have the time to experience all the things I love, like travel, learning and spending quality time with family and friends. Becoming a small business owner has taught me many things, not only about business but about myself. It’s honestly an endless journey of triumphs and trials, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned along the way: finding those little moments to refill your own cup is everything ✨ Whether it’s through yoga, meditation, a peaceful walk in nature, losing myself in a book, writing poetry or finding flow state as I dance around a canvas —these are the things that help me reconnect and rebalance when my world feels a little out of rhythm.
I truly believe when we realign with ourselves, we create space for happiness, wellness, and endless possibilities to flow in 💫 From inception, Sama Wellness Studio has at its core, intended to be more than bricks and mortar, it is a community and for many it is a sanctuary—a space to recharge, find balance, and reconnect with the best version of yourself.

About your teacher: Amalia sees Yoga as a Prayer to the Self, a tool for inner realisation and expansion. She describes the body a Temple with many chambers that we can discover as we navigate through our practice of the different limbs.
About the class: During the month of September, Amalia’s classes will be Hatha based, drawing on the breath, smooth and slow transitions to strengthen the body and mind.

Meet Kris 👋🏼
Kriz has recently moved from Fremantle and nestled into the beautiful South West. She is an ever evolving, devoted Yoga Teacher and Reiki Healer. Kriz has been practicing Yoga for 10+ years. Initially, beginning her studies as a Yoga Teacher to deepen her practice and explore herself more, little did she know that would take her down the path of finding her greatest passion - being a teacher! She feels it is most deeply nourishing and rewarding ‘job’ she has ever had.
Whilst moving to the South West, Kriz had taken a short break from teaching to reconnect more deeply to her natural rhythms ~ through self practice. This has taught her the importance of finding equilibrium in the healing space. Meanwhile, she has been working alongside some inspiring men with disabilities and mental health illness. Whilst also running some events with meditation, sound healing, breath work and contrast therapy. Yoga is her way of moving the self into a different state, moving energy and committing to exploring the heart and soul.
Her classes incorporate pranayama and mudras to enhance flow of energy and eliminate blockages and stagnancy’s in the body and mind.
You can join Kriz in the studio on Wednesday’s 5-6pm for a heated Flow, or on Saturday for a 75min Flow at 8am, commencing this Saturday!
New Class & Welcome Tessa 🧡
If you had the opportunity to join our Community Class over the month of August, you would have already had the pleasure to meet Tessa! Tessa has in the last two years settled here in the South West and is an Exercise Physiologist by profession.
Tessa came across Yoga at the age of 16 as she joined an Ashtanga Course back in her homeland Finland. As a lover of all sports and movement practices, Yoga has been the one that remained throughout her whole life. After Tessa completed her Yoga Teacher Training in Nepal, Yoga has grown to be more like a lifestyle. Alongside asana practice, Tessa is dedicated Vipassana meditator.
Yoga provides Tessa with beautiful community alongside with ever-increasing compassion, equanimity and self-awareness. Teaching Yoga means to her having the opportunity to pass on the gifts that she has acquired from multiple teachers along the way. Tessa is passionate about assisting people becoming healthier and stronger versions of themselves.
You can rise and shine with Tessa in the studio every Thursday morning for one of newest offerings, Ashtanga, starting this Thursday. We look forward to brining you a 90 minute Ashtanga class in October. We enourage you to dip your toes in our 60 minute practice in anticipation for working towards the full primary series.
Ashtanga (led)
Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic practice which moves through a set sequence of asana (postures), synchronising breath and movement known as ‘vinyasa’ alongside focussed gaze points ‘drishti’ and energy locks ‘bandhas’.
In our Ashtanga led class you will be guided through a curated set sequence of postures based on the Primary Series to suit the length of class, allowing you to build an internal heat and, gradually over time, increasing your strength and flexibility.
The Ashtanga practice is perfectly designed to realign, detoxify and purify the body and the nervous system. An excellent foundation to any yoga practice, suitable for beginners through to more experienced practitioners.

Tessa has in the last two years settled here in the South West and is an Exercise Physiologist by profession. She travelled to Nepal to complete her Ashtanga and Hatha training, has completed three separate 10-day Vipassana silent meditation courses and most recently has completed her Yin Training locally. Tessa currently guides a couple of classes a week and is very excited to connect with the community at Sama Wellness Studio.
About the class:
During the month of August, Tessa’s classes will be an Ashtanga led class, drawing on the primary series and integrating some of the secondary series into the practice.
Collecting cash donations on the day, we encourage you to donate if you can, knowing that one hundred percent of donations will go to POOPS as selected by Tessa.
Registration to attend is encouraged and can be completed via our booking system (app or web). We have capacity to accept walk ins too.

Our Community Classes are held on Thursday’s 5-6pm and vary in the offering from month to month based on the teachers style, training and experiences. Attendance to these classes, are by donation with 100% of the funds raises to be donated to the charity as chosen by the Community Class teacher.
For the month of July, Mackenzie is guiding our classes with all funds raised to be donated to Sea Shepherd Australia.
ellla is an intuitive energy work practitioner and passionate yoga teacher who has recently moved to Dunsborough. The art of Yoga has had such a drastic impact on her life as she found the practice for the first time after breaking her back at the age of 18. Yoga completely transformed her life and she wanted to help assist others to experience the same transformation, which is why she became a teacher. Mackenzie has been teaching full time since 2020 and has been running her own home studio in Nannup & Jalbarragup the past 3 years.
Mackenzie’s classes will be a ‘Flow’ based offering; expect to be intuitively guided, to feel embodied and encouraged to feel into your own journey. Mackenzie has a deep passion for holistic healing and shamanic roots & can’t wait to meet you all this July!

Jaya has recently moved to to the South West from Perth where she had been teaching for the past 3 years. Jaya discovered her love for Yoga in her late teens and loves the way Yoga allows her to connect, strengthen and accept both her body and my mind.
During the month of May, Jaya’s classes with be an accessible and gentle slow flow practice encouraging a deep connection to breath, body and mind. Focusing on indulgent mediative movements suitable for beginners and beyond.
Collecting donations on the day, we encourage you to donate if you can, knowing that one hundred percent of donations will go to Dog Refuge Home, Shenton Park as selected by Jaya.

You will only ever share this space with others if you choose to invite guests to your session. We believe it is important for you to have control over this and only share your Infrared Sauna or Contrast Therapy experience with friends and loved ones if you choose!
Once you book your preferred session and appointment time, the space is entirely yours 🧡 If you opt to bring guests to your session, we have a small charge payable on arrival per guest, making our sessions very affordable.

1️⃣ Balancing the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS):
Contrast Therapy has a unique ability to regulate the Autonomic Nervous System, which comprises the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) branches. The Infrared Sauna gently activates the sympathetic response, promoting alertness and vitality, while the Ice Bath triggers the parasympathetic system, inducing a calming effect. Sama Wellness Studio is located in the Dunsborough Lakes LIA with a large frontage on Commonage Road. Our Practitioner Room is brand new and comes furnished. We offer a regular schedule of yoga, breathwork, mediation and sound bath journeys in the mornings and evenings. Additionally, in our adjoining unit with spacious reception area, we have an Infrared Sauna and Ice Bath opening this January! Our founder and local artist and creative coach Sarah Malone has her art studio upstairs above reception.
