Should Children get their Skin Checked?
You do the right thing and get your skin check every 12 months, but what about your child?
Luckily, the risk of skin cancer in children is very low. Children aged 15 or under are significantly less likely to develop skin cancer than adults. However, if you or your child notice any suspicious moles, it's always best to get them checked.

Moles are common skin growths that appear as dark brown spots of varying sizes and can develop anywhere on the body. While usually harmless, moles can sometimes change in appearance or become a health concern.
Removal is often sought for medical or aesthetic reasons and can be done through methods like surgical excision, laser treatment, or cryotherapy. These procedures are generally quick, involve minimal recovery time, and ensure the safe and effective removal of unwanted moles.
Both Dr Archana & Dr Chris are trained in skin cancer surgery so if you're interested in our mole removal services, please book a consultation with us.

Early detection of skin cancer improves survival and other outcomes
The most common sign of melanoma is the appearance of a new spot or a change in an existing mole. This can happen anywhere on the body, but most often on the back, legs, arms and face
In many cases, melanomas have an irregular shape and have more than one colour. They may also be larger than normal moles and can sometimes be itchy or bleed.
If you find a suspicious or new spot, see your doctor as soon as possible
