The other day, I taught a yoga class in school to year 12’s. At the same time, there was a sound healing class offered for another yr 12 class. It was a beautiful setup, mats, pillows, and all the sound bowls you can think of. It looked amazing, and I had one of those moments where I doubted myself, questioning what I was doing. I thought about it for a while and came back to what yoga has to offer and why I want to share the tools & teachings.

The beautiful thing about yoga and what I love about the teachings and tools of yoga is that they are ALWAYS with you, you can tap into them at any moment, your breath is always with you, your body is always with you.

While there are many beautiful and helpful therapies, therapists, healers, and health professionals out there and ABSOLUTLEY necessary, they are not always accessible when we do need them.

Most of the time, it is not possible to see your therapist or have a healing session in the moment of need.

When we are in an acute situation where it is not possible to immediately see your healer, therapist, psychologist, it is important that we have tools to get us through the situation at least until we can get professional help.
Sometimes, there are long waiting periods to see a health professional or therapist or whoever you prefer to see. For many of us, help might not be accessible financially. There is a gap, and the tools yoga provides can help fill the gap.
When we learn and consistently practice these tools, they can be life changing and lifesaving in some cases, but also helpful in day to day living and dealing with life’s daily challenges, at school, at home, AND any other activities and social situations.

There are many tools yoga has to offer, such as breathing exercises, making our own sound and movement that can help us in stressful or challenging situations.

Allow yourself to pause and give the gift of rest to yourself and /or a loved one this Mother's Day.

Let me guide you on a journey of deep relaxation with a nourishing blend of movement, restorative yoga, and yoga Nidra.

This is the perfect opportunity to look after yourself and celebrate you with this rejuvenating practice.

Restorative yoga and yoga Nidra are deeper forms of relaxation, a practice of non-doing, resting the body and the mind, and can be practiced by anyone.

In restorative yoga all shapes are fully supported by bolsters, pillows and blankets and held for longer periods of time.

Yoga Nidra is an exploration within that will guide you from waking awareness to deep relaxation.

Both practices can enhance our wellbeing and benefit us on all levels - physically, mentally and emotionally.

All are welcome

The busy time of the year is back and so is REST & RESTORE!

Are you a parent, carer or teacher? Do you need rest?
I invite you to take some time out for yourself and embark on a journey of deep rest with me.
For many of us, approaching the end of the year is filled with even more jobs and things to do on our never-ending ‘to do’ list. Life can be extra stressful with end-of-year events, writing reports, organizing Christmas, finishing jobs at work and worries about how to manage through this time for many. While we are caring for our families, loved ones and community it is important to care for ourselves too.
And sometimes the most productive thing you can do is to rest.
We can’t pour out of an empty cup and while the people we care for are important, let’s not forget we are too.
Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra are deeper forms of relaxation, a practice of non-doing, resting the body and the mind, and can be practiced by anyone.

Give the gift of rest to yourself and/or a loved one, all are welcome.

Classes are held monthly starting Thursday 23rd of November 2023 6:30pm – 7:40pm

Yoga for kids and teens is back

Term 3 classes are on from Thursday 27th of July until Thursday 21st of September 2023.

No experience required, classes are suitable for kids ages 7 – 12 and teens 12+

Yoga and mindfulness for kids: Yoga for children is a fun and non-judgmental way of channeling their energy to bring steadiness and stability both physically and mentally. Classes are interactive with lots of play and fun using games and activities to focus on body, mind and breath and teach children tools to navigate the tricky world we live in. By practicing regularly, yoga can help to increase strength, flexibility, coordination, concentration and confidence. It can also help to improve sleep, improve mood and reduce stress and anxiety.

Yoga and mindfulness for teens: Teenagers go through a lot of changes during adolescence years and at the same time there is increasing pressure from outside, at school, socially and making decisions for the future to name a few. Many are also juggling school work with part time jobs and sports as well as an active social live.
Mindful movement, meditation and breathing exercises – can support teenagers overall health and wellbeing, help handling stress and anxiety and increase strength and flexibility in body and mind.

Rest and restore this festive season with a Restorative Yoga practice followed by Yoga Nidra.
Feeling rushed, stressed or overwhelmed or just need a break? We live in a busy world and at this time of the year many of us have even more on the ‘to do list’. Lots of events happening, trying to tick boxes, finishing jobs before the end of the year. While some of those things aren’t necessarily stressful in a negative sense, taking time to rest is even more important for our health and wellbeing. There are many ways to relax, like reading a book, being in nature, watching a movie or TV, having a cup of tea or a glass of wine, seeing loved ones and more. While these can be all nice things to fill our own cup, there is still a lot of doing involved.
Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra are deeper forms of relaxation and a practice of non-doing, resting the body and the mind.
I invite you to take some time out for yourself and embark on a journey of deep rest with me.
