We haven't been able to get out into the community as much as we'd like lately. Not only covid restrictions but work and mum life keeping us busy we need a store set up beside Annes Caphe ☕ to keep us going 😴

Today we learnt OCHRE is called MAGANI (pronounced mar-gar-nee) in BIRRI Language. Magani is used for paintings/story telling, sealing traditional tools like a resin, camouflage and can be used by men & woman.

We learnt that it was also used to trade like currency.

The date 4 August was historically used to communally celebrate the birthdays of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were taken from their families at a young age, without knowing their birthday – the Stolen Generations.

Rise & Shine Breakfast Club Update

The Rise & Shine Breakfast club has been a hit with local school kids in the Upper Ross region. THANKYOU to the Qld Police CBCAC funding group for supporting this initiative. This gives kids the opportunity 4 days per week to grab some breakie on their way to school.

This coming Tuesday ( 3rd August) we will be cooking up a storm with yummy hot toasties!!!!
So any kids that want to swing by and grab a toastie before school, Sgt Mel and the team will have the doors open from 730am!!!
Drop in say hi, grab a feed and get the school day started with a yummy toastie!

July has been a huge month! With the profit from sales from our amazing customers across Aus we have been able to DONATE over 100 Gubin Banga Box Kits to local schools that are doing amazing in fostering Cultural Education with our future leaders 🙏

Thats 100 children this month who went home and proudly stomped around the house banging the clap sticks together (sorry parents) and most importantly TALKED about what they learnt with their families 🖤💛❤

Thank you to everyone who supports our business. Your supporting communities and school kids take steps in the right direction to cultural awareness, acceptance, inclusion and education 🙏 we need you to keep going.
