The President/Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) is one of the most important roles at GMSM as you the face, leader and the future of the business. You will be enforcing your vision of the company and responsible for succession of Geelong and Melbourne Student Media INC.
The President/Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) must be a practical member of the team and an inspiring leader to lead your team to success and also be there to support the day to day operations too. The President/Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) will have a business mindset and will be able to see The Board’s vision in a variety of settings. They will take actions to enhance the company’s cash flow while keeping the human factor in perspective. The goal is to drive the company’s development and guide it towards financial long-term success.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives of The Board’s vision
• Develop goals & objectives that’s inline from the organisation’s mission and vision
• Establishing policies that promote company culture and vision
• Lead and motivate teams to advance staff, volunteer and member engagement to develop a high performing organisation.
• Oversee all operations and commercial activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy, vision, values and mission
• Make high-pressure decisions to advance the business and increase profits in a fast pace environment.
• Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and company policies to maintain the company’s image.
• Work with Chief of Staff and The Board to review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements
• Analyse problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
• Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company
• Developing content ideas that might interest our audience and producing those ideas into productions
This job will require you to travel to our Melbourne Office 1 day a week.
We are looking for Administrative Assistants to assist our office operations. Administrative Assistants will responsible for running and coordinating the day-to-day administrative duties of the organisation. We are looking for people who are excellent organisational skills, communication skills and the capacity to manage several tasks or requests at the same time with exceptional time management. We require people to be Proficient in MS Office (Word, Powerpoint etc) & Google Suite (G-mail, Drive, Docs etc), proficient communicating skills including reading and writing, dedicated to getting the task done on time, answering telephones and being organised.
Please note, we won't be accepting people from an agency or employment services providers.

Are you in Year 10, 11 or 12 and have an interested in being in the media industry. We are looking for passionate students ho want to learn the ropes of the industry and to get some experience.
GMSM Offices are closed due to lockdown for the state. and will still be streaming and shows will still be running. If you need us during this time, you can still contact us via the normal ways! Stay safe
GMSM is looking for a dedicated, passionate & self motivating Radio & Audio Services Manager to join our expanding team.
You will be running the operations of The Wave Student Radio including you will be the main contact for presenters & staff. You will also be required to create show scheduling making sure that equipment is clean, functional and safe to use. Also, you be responsible to commission content for the radio station including creating exclusive podcasts and online only content including uploading it to The Wave’s radio DJ System.
The Radio & Audio Services Manager will have to decide what shows and content will be going to air and making sure that the team knows what shows are trained and know media law basics. The Radio & Audio Services Manager will also facilitate radio training both online and in person for new members who want to present a podcast or radio show. Finally, they would communicate with other departmental managers to help promote The Wave to the public including running events, planning on-air competitions & marketing campaigns.

This Major Flood Warning is being issued for the Yarra river from Coldstream to Warrandyte.
- MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY IN THE YARRA RIVER AT YARRA GLEN FRIDAY EVENING. MINOR FLOODING DEVELOPING DOWNSTREAM OF YARRA GLEN FROM SATURDAY.
- The Yarra River catchment has received rainfall averaging about 4 mm in the Upper Yarra region and about 1 mm in the Lower Yarra region since 09:00 AM Thursday 10 June 2021. Rainfall totals up to 5mm have been forecast for the catchment today (Friday 11 June 2021).
- The level of the Yarra River at Yarra Glen is currently at the Moderate Flood Level of 4.60 metres, and rising. It is expected to peak around the Major Flood Level (5.00 metres) this evening. The estimated peak at Yarra Glen is likely to exceed the peak level of the February 2011 event (4.77 metres), which is the highest flood level recorded at this site to date.
- The level of the Yarra River at Christmas Hills is currently at 1.93 metres, and steady. It is expected to peak above the Minor Flood Level (3.00 metres) tomorrow morning (Saturday 11 June 2021).
- The level of the Yarra River at Warrandyte is currently at 1.85 metres, and steady. It is expected to peak above the Minor Flood Level (3.00 metres) tomorrow evening.
