Knox’s recovery from a tiger snake bite, organized by Jasmine Lawrence 20/11/2023

We are thinking of the family of little Knox the French Bulldog Puppy who didn’t survive a bite from a Tiger Snake.

Thank you to the family who called us and still had the presence of mind to not harm the snake.

We really appreciate you and commend you for your compassion for wildlife.

Please donate to the below link if you are financially able to help with unexpected vet fees for the family :

Enjoy your Melbourne cup today !

We will be catching snakes today if you need us.

Yesterday was a busy day catching and relocating snakes.

Tigers , Eastern Browns and Copperheads.

I love catching the snakes down here, mostly tigers and copperheads which are like handling a puppy dog compared to the Tai’s up FNQ , so it’s really nice to be catching different species.

Even though these snakes aren’t quite as complex as tai’s to handle, you still have to stay sharp and on your game or else you could end up in 🏥 or ☠️.

Loving doing what I do , educating people as well as removing snakes and hopefully spreading a message about conservation to everyone.

*never try to attempt to handle, or injure a snake that you see. Not only is it ILLEGAL but it is very dangerous and you could end up with a FATAL bite*

Absolute legends 🐍 🇦🇺

Gday all!

Hope you’re well.

Im back from up FNQ working with these amazing animals 🐊!

Next week is going to warm up, so our snakes might be a bit more active.

If you see a snake on your property please ring us or another snake catcher immediately.

We get asked a lot -

when do you need a snake removed here are SOME helpful tips :

Workplace ✅

If there is children and or pets ✅

trapped in your backyard and you feel unsafe ✅

Peace of mind and property assessment ✅

Urban, well populated area ✅

Area of high traffic ✅

If you live on a property , and have no pets or children and are able to continue your day safely without having the snake removed, that’s always the best outcome for both parties.

(sounds strange as this is my business and money in this day and age is needed!)

If you do find your self in need of advice or need a reptile removed.

Call us - 0488 266 189

Or save the number just in case!

A win for wildlife today!

Thank you K Rock - 95.5fm for giving us a media platform to talk sensibly about snakes, and not fear mongering.

We are Constantly fighting to protect snakes and educate the public about them and how vital they are to have around, snakes are a sign of a healthy eco system.

With all the negativity around them in regards to media, I’d just like to say thank you to K Rock for allowing us to have a bit more of a positive look at these amazing animals.

So if you have time , tune in to K Rock or send them a thank you for allowing us to have that space and time to talk positively about snakes.

A small win for wildlife and ecosystems in our region, but I’ll take it !

** please don’t try to handle , injure or harass these animals , untrained interference with most wildlife in Australia can be potentially dangerous and is illegal **

Listen - K ROCK 95.5 17/10/2023

Tune in to 95.5 K Rock from 7:15 this morning to listen to me talk about snakes and maybe even a croc.

Mainly to debunk this phenomenon in the media that snakes are absolutely everywhere at the moment, the reason for the encounters and the unecessary fear mongering around these animals and how we can be more aware and what to do if you do encounter a snake!

It’s going to be a warm one tomorrow ..

Just keep an eye out and be a bit more aware that snakes might be out sun baking, digesting meals and warming up to breed and hunt.

Amazing animals that need to be respected and not feared.

If you have one on your property ring us straight away and we will give you advice whilst we make our way there to remove it.

Was a busy week!

Even had to pull a copperhead out of the top section of this deck.

Most popular snakes were Tigers , Copperheads and Eastern Browns.

Call outs being in :

Lara, Mt Duneed, Highton, Lorne, Drysdale, Clifton Springs and Inverleigh being the most popular suburbs over the weekend.

Photo below is taken without any animals in it and the snake had been bagged and taken boxed for release without any filming or pictures.

We love relocating snakes and we disassembled this deck as neatly as we could and the owner was very happy with the Big Copperhead that was rescued because of it.

This call out took me an hour and 15 mins of making sure the snake was safe and discussing other possibilities , however being so close to the house, with dogs and children in possible danger we made the decision with the Residents of the house approval to safely and gently pull up the decking and catch the snake.

Mission success ✅

Big day today with snakes !

8 Call outs - 2 passed on to Elapid Snake Catcher who does an amazing job so save his number also if needed.

A photo shoot tomorrow with The Geelong Times, talking a little about snake conservation and what to do if one is seen.

Feels great doing what I love and with like minded people, who genuinely care about the conservation and education around snakes.

One of my favourite snakes I’ve ever worked with.

His name was Elvis - The Black Headed Python!

Always so patient and great to display and handle.

He appeared in many media outlets and even on an episode of Ru Paul’s Drag Race.

Miss you mate!

Remember - stay safe as this week has some warmer weather coming up - keep an eye out for our local snakes !

Call us if you need anything !
