OK so we had a peek over your laptop and saw you searching ‘easy lunch ideas’ so here’s one for this week, you’re welcome! Get wrapped up with these delicious new sauces we have instore now. They make salad / falafel wraps a breeze all thanks to Fresh Fodders clever new flavours.

National dumpling day 🥟🥟🥟
What’s the tastiest dumpling you’ve ever had? Try your hand at our Pork + ginger recipe below: 🥟Ingredients: Pack of Gyoza dumpling wrappers Pork mince 500g 1/4 cabbage finely sliced (we used #1 on our mandolin) 1 tablespoon crushed garlic 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 -2 tablespoons crushed ginger 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 tablespoon sesame oil Pinch of chilli flakes if you like A fairly heavy seasoning of salt and fine white pepper 5 stems spring onion finely chopped 🌶Method; -Combine all ingredients in a big bowl and preferably sit in fridge for an hour minimum so flavours infuse ~Get a dumpling station set up with: a small bowl of water a teaspoon your bowl of mixture your dumpling wrappers and; container or plate for sitting made dumplings in. (Get the whole family involved around the dinner table!) Dumpling assembly 🥟 ~Peel a gyoza wrapper off the stack and hold flat in your left hand (if right handed) ~Dip your right index finger in the small bowl of water and paint the edge of half the gyoza circle with water ~ get a teaspoon of mixture and sit in the middle of the wrapper ~ fold the wrapper in a half moon and squeeze the pastry together to seal TIP: you are in charge of the pastry! It’s malleable and stretchy so don’t be afraid to pull it a little BUT don’t overfill w mixture, a solid teaspoon should do the trick. ~ now you have a sealed half moon so start by pinching a pleat from one end to the other, using your index fingers and thumbs. You can then sit the dumpling on its base and pinch the pleats together Repeat!

Over the years we have worked hard to reduce the amount of single use plastic available in our store and although we still have some changes to make, we feel that we have come a very long way! 🌏 During the month of July, we’re keen to show you a few ways that you can reduce your single use plastic consumption in store with us.. One of our favourite strategies is using one of our many recycled produce boxes (available upon request) and filling them up with fresh fruit & veg. This means that you can avoid plastic produce bags altogether! 🥦 Arguably, the best part about grabbing a recycled produce box is that you’ll receive a complimentary East Fruit Market staff member, who will carry it to your car for you! 😂🥰
