Today is the day!

I’ve owned East Fruit Market for 16 years, and yes it’s a long time!
I wouldn’t have my life any other way. Business ownership has become increasingly harder in recent times and requires so much more attention and guidance, it’s lucky I love every part about what my job is!

A very special thank you to some amazing staff who have put in many years!

During this time I’ve met some amazing customers and employed over 100 staff!
We started with 5 five staff and today there are 48 who call East Fruit Market home!!

Thanks to everyone who has helped make East Fruit a local institution and to everyone who has ever walked in the door! These 16 years are all because of you!! Xx

East Fruit Market is turning 16! 🎈

16 years ago, Greg had a vision of creating a community extravaganza for both customers and staff... and voila East Fruit Market was born!

Over the years, we have employed over 100 local kids, and still have some original full-time staff from the beginning. We have built an amazing business around the most loyal, friendly, thoughtful customers that you could ever imagine - they helped us get to 16 years ❤️

We want to celebrate our Sweet 16th with you and we want to celebrate in East Fruit style (for 3 months to be exact!).

For the next 3 months, YOU have a chance to win FREE FRUIT FOR A YEAR! At the end of June, July and August we will be drawing a lucky winner. But you have to be in it, to win it! Spend $25 in store to enter.

Today we welcome a new product from Irrewarra Sourdough Bakery, and a day where we step closer to a plastic free environment.
The ciabatta breadstick packaged with a paper wrap replaces the bags of ciabatta rolls. The long ciabatta can be cut into your desired length.
These are available in plain and seeded.

Anzac Day is a special day for so many, especially within our team.

Greg and his sisters Suzanne & Katrina, honour their grandfather- Duncan Brown, known by all as “Dud”.
Dud enlisted in his hometown of Portland as a young 20yr old in 1917 & set sail 6 months later serving in France on the Western Front until WW1 finally came to an end.
A couple of years after the war ended, Dud returned to Australia, farming in the Wimmera, marrying, and starting a family before settling in Balliang where the farm is still proudly in the family.
Today, we honour and pay respect to the courageous Australian and New Zealander’s who served and died in the war.
