As we celebrate our 6th anniversary, we reflect on the incredible journey that brought us here! Over a decade ago, our founder Justin Cronin, started from humble beginnings working as a personal trainer operating out of his garage. Thanks to the growing popularity on social media and strong word of mouth around Geelong, the demand was sky high. It was then a monumental sacrifice was made to move his work into a gym facility. 🎊🎉

The business model was unique and unmatched, hiring personal trainers operating from private booths. This initiative laid the foundation for what has evolved into a thriving fitness community known for its innovative approach and personalised client experience. As demand surged, we expanded our team to include university-qualified Exercise and Sports Scientists, ensuring each client received specialised expertise tailored to their specific goals and needs. 👨🏽‍🎓👩‍🎓📋🎯

During the challenges posed by the pandemic, we saw an opportunity to enhance our facility by adding a mezzanine floor, effectively doubling our training booths from 5 to 9, each equipped with premium gym equipment designed for diverse exercise needs. This transformation not only provided additional space for growth and support but also gave our gym a new dynamic that enhances our ability to serve our community even better. 🏋️‍♂️🏃🏽‍♀️

Becoming NDIS registered four years ago opened our doors wider, welcoming individuals of all abilities into our inclusive and nurturing environment. ♿️

Further expanding into Exercise Physiology services two years ago further solidified our commitment to holistic health and wellness by becoming registered Allied Health. 🏥 Today, My Fit Space stands strong with a dedicated team of 11 Accredited Exercise Scientists and Exercise Physiologists. 💪

As we celebrate this milestone, the My Fit Space team want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our loyal clientele, whose support has made all this possible. We look forward to continuing our journey of growth, innovation, and profound impact in the lives of our community members 🌟

“Emerging evidence highlights exercise as an effective adjunct to traditional pharmacological treatments, where movement can offer a natural remedy to those navigating mental health challenges. 

Physiologically, exercise stimulates the release of mood-enhancing chemicals such as endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine in the brain, fostering a sense of well-being and resilience while reducing levels of stress hormones like cortisol. Not only can you get the strength, mobility and cardio benefits from exercise - it doesn’t come with the potentially negative side effects of medication.

Ideally, to see great improvements in mental health, the Australian Physical Activity Guidelines suggests accumulating 150-300 minutes of moderate-to-high intensity exercise with 2 days of resistance training per week.
