I took this photo today as we drove from ArrowTown to Wanaka over the crown ranges. Every little shop that we stop at has handmade ceramics from local makers and it was awesome to see. I will try and tag a few tomorrow when we head over to Milford Sound.

Taking a few days off for a little bit of a break I haven’t had one for a little while.

Order collections this week up until 4 pm on Friday at which time I’ll be heading away and won’t be back the following Friday .

If you’ve currently got orders to collect from the studio you can collect them up until 4 pm on Friday at which time I’ll be taking a bit of time off and returning on the following Friday at 10 am .

Brush On Stoneware Glaze

The very popular Oat Milk stoneware glaze is now available as a brush on. We have both 500ml and 1litre options for you.

Pictured is a gorgeous cup made from stoneware 33 which has a lovely speckle through the clay body and it works amazingly with the Oat Milk glaze.

Slightly warmer this morning and I have just finished trimming the first batch of pet bowls that will be decorated by some luck folks in the next few weeks. I will pop some photos of the finished ( bisqued ) bowls up soon.

Cone 10 - This one has just come out of the Kilns and I’m a little chuffed with it. If you want to learn how to make your own glazes and have heaps of fun along the way - there’s only a couple of spots left in the next glaze workshop.

This time around, we’re going to do the glaze workshop on a Sunday as I’ve had a few people request Sundays rather than Saturdays.

You don’t need to bring anything, but your enthusiasm for making your own glaze.

In the workshop, we teach you the basics of glaze, formulation, and how to make your own glaze from scratch as well as how are you can alter that glaze to achieve different colours and outcomes.

This weeks happenings.... I am putting a few 1 on 1 wheel throwing workshops online this week, there will be a mix of 1 session (2hr) and 2 sessions (4hr) workshops.
We have a load of new stock coming in this week as well and we will do a little update on Friday.

Saturday we are open from 9am to 12pm and your welcome to pop in and say hello.
Theres a good mix of pet bowls and planters as well as a whole lot of other stuff just out of the kiln.

Glaze Workshop - there is 1 spot left foe the glaze workshop this coming Saturday at 1pm.

Have a great weekend - I spent a lot of today chatting to people that popped in and bought cups & pet food bowls and the remainder trimming a few of these before I tucked them in for the weekend.
A massive thank you to everyone that came in today, it was a lot busier than I expected, I’ll make sure to have a little bit more of everything next Saturday.

Geelong cup today but we are working as normal.

Fantastic weather today, no matter if you are going to the cup or making a cup - like I will be.

Switching it back to a darker clay body today.
Some clay bodies are a little harder to get at the moment as supply is short, Im not sure of the reason but I would like to think that its probably because more people are taking up ceramics - because its awesome ☺️😊
