We are excited to be hosting the COMMUNITY SAFETY CAFE tomorrow Thursday 22nd. Queensland Police Service and Gladstone Regional Council would love to discuss the things that matter most to you in our community.

Discover and share some of the things that you would like to see happen that would make our community a safer more liveable place to be. Maybe you want to celebrate something great you don’t want to see disappear!?

• MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH MONTH •
FREE COFFEE DAY!

June is men’s mental health awareness month and we want to help facilitate this.

We are holding a FREE COFFEE DAY tomorrow (FRIDAY 21st) for all the men in your lives!

Bring your man down to the cafe for a cuppa or order him a take away to surprise him at work and we will shout him for you!

Mental ill-health remains high among Australian men, with up to 25% experiencing a diagnosed mental health disorder in their lifetime, and 15% experiencing a disorder in a 12-month period. This statistic alone is an eye opener!

Around 4% of Australian men reported that they are lonely (i.e. have no close friend).
Loneliness was significantly associated with experiences of depression and suicidality among Australian men, above and beyond area-level socio-economic disadvantage and unemployment. When was the last time you checked in on your mates and started the conversation? How are you? No really… HOW ARE YOU?

Slow Lane Cafe exists to empower real conversations, restore dignity and allow authenticity.
Every coffee matters, it matters to us, it matters to you but most importantly IT MATTERS TO THOSE IN NEED.

Almost 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. We want to change that, and we need your help.
Your attendance at our morning tea will help raise vital funds to bring us closer to a cancer free future.

This year we will also be raffling off an incredible hamper, filled with donations of small local businesses, all ticket sales from this raffle are also being donated to Cancer Council.
