Mr. M's STA was overall a positive and enriching experience. He returned from his STA with a sparkle in his eye and a spring in his step, taking action steps to make positive changes in his life.

He enjoyed the shared experiences with the Support worker - waking to the ocean views then Escaping the Everyday with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, multiple beach walks and Seaworld's penguins and rides were at the top of his list of favourite experiences.

Is it time you got a fresh perspective? Contact Blue Marble today about an STA.

Every night, thousands of Australians experience homelessness. But it doesn't have to be that way. This year our team is taking part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout to raise money for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Australians in need. For one night, all of us will be sleeping outside as part of an eye-opening experience to raise awareness and bring home the realities of homelessness.

To help break the devastating cycle of homelessness, you can support us through your kind donations using the below link:

STA experience -
Miss G loved every minute of her STA.
The apartment at Kangaroo Point overlooked the Brisbane River and she enjoyed looking at her hometown from a different perspective.
She had a thrilling Escape Hunt experience - Alice in Puzzleland - with a nail-biting climax escaping with 3 seconds to spare!
The next day, Miss G was up for adventure at Australia Zoo. She adored the time with the animals - especially the animal encounter with the Binturong.

Fun Fact: Binturong's smell like popcorn?!

Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness affecting more than 21 million people worldwide according to the World Health Organization. The purpose of this day is to spread awareness about this illness, eradicate the myths and superstitions around mental illnesses in general.

Today we recognise the global importance of infant, child and adolescent mental health and advocate for the promotion of mental health and prevention of mental illness in infants, children and adolescents. Most mental disorders develop in childhood and adolescence (before the age of 25), and one-quarter of disability-adjusted life years for mental and substance use disorders occur in youths. The theme for 2023 is Stand Against Infant, Child and Adolescent Trauma.

STA experience -

Miss J had a lot of FUN creating memories and learning life skills during her March STA.
The rain reduced the time spent at some of the theme parks. Even so there are still Smiles for Miles at Seaworld, Dreamworld and Movieworld, Dracula's, and Outback Spectacular.
Miss J worked on her budgeting skills to build her capacity and maximise her experience.

STA experience - Choosing nature, finding peace.

Mr M chose Currumbin Valley View Villas for this STA where he was calmed by beautiful scenery. He has been here before with Blue Marble Health Services and loved it that much, he asked to go back. It didn't disappoint. He loved collecting eggs from the chickens on site and spending time with the cows and the birds. He visited Cougal Cascades, which was one of his favourite memories of the trip. Other magical moments included:
- Catching a GT (Giant Trevally),
- Fossicking for fossils (and speaking with some fossil experts about his discoveries),
- Discovering some vinyl record classics at an op shop in Tugun; and
- Cruising around the Gold Coast sights on the water while on the Aqua duck tour.

Mr M felt more at peace at the end of his STA. Rejuvenated by nature.

Let our team prepare your itinerary by designing it to your needs and goals.

Last month, Pacific Pines hosted our Participant BBQ with sunshine, sausages, and smiles!

Thank you to all who attended. It was fantastic to meet new faces, put faces to voices that we hear over the phone, and have a little dance for those who were able to stay around until the end.

NDIS Latest News: The Telethon Kids Institute (TKI) will deliver a pilot program that will examine whether pre-emptive intervention for children showing early behavioural signs of autism, may reduce the level of support required later in life.

Approximately 700 families in WA will be invited to be part of the new pilot and will look at the effects the program has on children aged between 9 and 15 months. The NDIS supports hundred and thousands of Australians with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the test will allow us to continue to look at ways that we can support children and their families.

Goltz syndrome is a rare genetic condition that affects less than 300 people worldwide. It causes various abnormalities in the skin, hands and feet, and eyes, with each case being unique. Goltz syndrome is caused by mutations in the PORCN gene, which is important for embryonic development. Treatment involves managing individual symptoms and complications, and regular follow-up care from a team of specialists. Let's raise awareness about this rare condition and support those who are affected by it!
