Sorry that, its been a while since we last posted, however we have been extremely busy on all fronts, for the first 5months of 2024..

An example of that is this one - A large 606kW system being built on top of an existing Multi Level Car Park in Sydney's North, for our large international principal client. From concept, to design, to engineering, to fabrication and install.. PV Structures does it all.

All steelworks should be completed by the end of the week, the electrical teams are all onsite now running cables, ready for the Solar install to begin asap.

We have been a tad to busy of late, to post any updates of substance, with all hands on deck over the past few months, tying off our projects for the years end.. And what a great year it has been for both Shade and Membrane Structures Australia (SMSA) and PV Structures (PVS - with our Solar Car Parks)

As both our internal teams and external supply chains have been busy working non stop for months on end, they have all deserved this well earned rest over the Xmas/New Year’s Break – to freshen up and re-vitalise, with the books already full of installations of new Design and Construct projects until at least mid year (and more exciting projects signing up in Jan/Feb)..

The images below are a collection of both SMSA and PVS projects completed recently as were in a rush to finish off the year and include (but not limited to):
• A Bowling Green all weather cover for an Aged Care Facility in the Hunter Valley (NSW)
• 9 x Car Park Shade Structure Projects for our great clients at Woolworths – including sites at Ararat (Vic), Benalla (Vic), Swan Hill (Vic,) Bellmere (Qld), Canningvale (WA), Marayong (NSW), Rochedale (Qld), Midlands (WA), Browns Plains (Qld) Kings Meadows (Tas)
• Large Sports Court Cover (still on-going) in South Australia
• 500kW Solar Car Park Project in Eastern Creek (NSW)
• 150kW Solar Car Project in Dalby (Qld)
• 708kW Solar Car Park Project in Brisbane (Qld) (still on-going)

From the teams here at Shade and Membrane (SMSA) and PV Structures – We wish all of our staff, friends, suppliers, consultants, contractors and clients a very Happy and Safe Christmas and New Years break.

See you all in 2024 – for another great year.

We love it when a plan starts coming together.. The structural component of this 486kW project in Sydney's Eastern Creek, across 13 different structures, is just finishing off. Now the Solar team from AGL Solar are flying ahead installing the JA Solar panels at a rapid..

We are very proud to have spent the past couple of years designing this one, keeping the interest alive through COVID, to finally now seeing the fruits of our efforts with the installation of our premium frame, by our in house team..

Watch this space for completion images once done.

And that's a wrap for 2022..

A record year for both Shade and Membrane Structures Australia and PV Structures , with plenty of successful projects completed, in both Shade and Solar and a bunch load still to be finished by June (making next year look great already).. Which is a fantastic position to be in, considering the past 2years of COVID and also the poor upcoming International financial outlook..

We couldn't do it at all, without our great Clients, Suppliers and in-house team of awesomeness.. An absolute huge Thank You to all involved..

Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year..

It seems that time and time again, good things come to those who wait. We are excited to finally begin this project - It was originally designed and priced 3years ago, then engineered 18months ago, put on hold 14months ago, came back to life 6months ago - A solar partner was awarded and then a revised slightly smaller layout was proposed 2months ago and then re-Engineered 2weeks ago, and now just about to go into fabrication..

We look forward to completing another successful Solar Car Park for this large international client, at their Western Sydney Distribution Center - When completed this will house a 485.3kW system - Using JA Solar 460W panels and Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. inverters. All solar and electrical works to be completed by AGL .

Project update from our 400kW Solar Car Park install in Sydney NSW - A bit of rain about, but so far around 300kw of structures have still been installed this week - Great effort by the team - The Structures should be completed by mid week - With the Solar crew, ready to get stuck into their part..

You know your crew is well respected on site when the head contractor asks if you can stick around for another 2weeks and help them install their elevator shaft (Unfortunately for them, we are shooting straight off to another site after this is done)

When looking into shade solutions for their commercial facility or carpark, many clients are aware that we can design a solar shade solution to suit the needs of their site and budget.

However, many people aren’t aware that an option they can consider is a PVS-Hybrid solution that combines both solar shade and tension membrane shade structures.

There are a number of reasons why this can be a good starting solution, for example it can help to reduce the initial project cost by implementing solar panels on only smaller sections of the structure. This can then begin to generate income for the facility, and when suitable, the rest of the shade structure can be upgraded to incorporate more solar panels.

Like all our solar shade solutions, a PVS-Hybrid structure allows for flexible design and customisation to suit the needs of each individual site and installation.

The term "Greenwash" refers to corporations making commitments to the environment, especially with respect to their renewable targets, that have no or very little actual impact. At PV Structures we provide real opportunities for corporations to make a tangible and visible impact on the environment by converting their uncovered car parks to solar car parks. This conversion means that the organisation is generating their power on-site and taking responsibility for its renewables targets. The companies that we work with are not "greenwashing"; they are making real commitments that make a real difference to their renewable targets and the environment.

🔅 SOLAR INNOVATION 🔅
A Danish raspberry farmer has created a new type of farm using solar structures - a combined solar and raspberry farm! This innovative approach to agriculture has been designed to allow protection, optimal light and growing conditions for the raspberry bushes by partially covering them with a perspex and solar panel shade structure. This has lead to a bumper strawberry crop as well as solar energy production. Whilst the setup was expensive, this farmer is investing in the future of his farm and our planet.

🔅 SOLAR INNOVATION 🔅
Harnessing solar energy from space may sound like the stuff of science fiction but the reality is closer than you may think. Recently the Californian Institute of Technology has invested more than $100 million in developing systems to harness solar power from space. The first tests are anticipated to launch into orbit in 2022.

But they are not the only ones; Chinese and Japanese teams also have plans to develop tech to harness space solar power. Why are they so keen on space as a new frontier for solar? The lack of weather variabilities and 24/7 supply is the biggest factor. However, the commercial viability of such innovations is still many decades into the future.
