Anyone that's knows me knows that I love/lust Italian Food and That's Amore is one of our favourite restaurants. If you haven't already been you must go, it's hidden in the back streets of Miami in suburbia.
It's the perfect spot for date night, super cute, intimate restaurant with fairy lights and inside & outdoor options 😍 and the service is amazing. I'll give you a tip too, if you go onto the first table app you can get your meal half price 😉

Check out Black Hops Brewery - 15 Gardenia Grove, Burleigh Heads QLD 4220 Heads
We popped in today for a quiet beer. This microbrewery hidden in the backstreets of Burleigh is a little gem and if you haven't gone and checked it out then you need to put it on the list. A good variety of beers on tap or you can grab yourself a tasting platter and sample a few. They also have takeaways in the fridge so you can grab a roadie. 🍻🍺

AUSTRALIA DAY 2024 CELEBRATIONS 🍾 ✨️
Happy Australia Day to you all 🇦🇺
26th January is a perfect day for ALL Australians to celebrate.
Facts about Australia Day
Captain Cook did not arrive in Australia on the 26th of January 1770, as current Australia Day celebrations lead you to believe. The Landing of Captain Cook in Botany Bay, Sydney, actually occurred on the 29th of April 1770.
The First Fleet arrived in Botany Bay on 18 January 1788. Again, no relevance to 26 January.
Whilst Captain Cook's landing did not occur on 26 January, it was usually included in Australia Day celebrations as a reminder of a significant historical event.
However, since the extravagant Bicentenary of the First Fleet celebrations of 1988 in Sydney, when Captain Cook's landing erroneously became THE focus of the Australia Day commemorations in Sydney, the relevance of this date has become divisive.
This focus on Cook’s Landing has since perpetuated around Australia because our politicians and educators have not promoted or educated our citizens on the truth of Australia Day or the real importance of the 26th of January to ALL Australians.
Here’s a quick summary of how 26 January became Australia Day.
On 1st January 1901 all the separate States and Territories united, or Federated, under one Commonwealth of Australia, but we were still a dominion of the British Commonwealth, subject to British laws, allegiance to the Crown, and we travelled mostly on British passports.
Under the Nationality Act 1920, “a person born within His Majesty’s dominions or allegiance”, all people, including Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders, born in the Commonwealth of Australia after 1 January 1921, were granted the status of British subjects. Internationally we still mainly travelled on British passports.
After the horrors of WWII, and the realisation that Britain abandoned us when we were attacked by Japan, our government in 1948, decided to Legislate as to who we are. We became our own people; our own Nation; not just British Subjects in a far-away land, although we still maintained our traditional allegiance to the British Commonwealth.
Whilst we called ourselves Australians since Federation in 1901, the Australian nationality came into effect when the "Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948", Assented to by the King on 21 December 1948, was Proclaimed the on 26th of January 1949 and came into effect on that date. That was the day we legally became Australian Nationals, not British Subjects, and could travel internationally with Australian Passports.
It was therefore also the date when all Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders automatically became Australian citizens under the "Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948", as they were previously made British subjects in 1921.
Thus, we all became Australians on the same day … on 26 January 1949. This is the real reason why we celebrate Australia Day on the 26th of January!
So there you go be proud of our country and OUR day as Australians 🇦🇺Happy Australia Day to you all tomorrow 🇦🇺
