MESSINA AT WOOLIES... PART 2.
if you stuck around for all my yapping yesterday on our woolies announcement post (go back and read that if you somehow missed it) you would have seen the very last point was we are also doing a range of cakes! once exclusively available at our marrickville HQ, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝟑 𝐜𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟎𝟎 𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 :)

there's an amped up version of the nostalgic choc malt bavarian (an integral part of every aussies childhood), our take on the iconic iced vovo biscuit - in cake form and of course, a tiramisu - we are italian after all.

now, these aren't your normal "ice cream" cakes, they are a "semi-freddo" cake which is one of those fancy italian words which makes most people say "wtf is that". it basically means semi-frozen, which means you store 'em in your freezer and 2 hours before eating pop it in the fridge and eat the cakes chilled! we made them like this because a) they don't melt so they travel much better and b) the flavours can be better due to the warmer serving temp.

and look, you CAN eat it frozen but it definitely won't be the optimal eating experience.

like the tubs, these will be rolling out to select woolies over the next week or so. if you want to check for stock without heading in store just use the woolies website/app and search for "messina" - if it's available to click and collect you're good to go!

MESSINA IS ROLLING OUT FROM TODAY IN *MOST* WOOLIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY 🥹

look yes, we've been in woolies before with drumstick, timtams, our gelato bars etc. but this is our first time out there with just straight up gelato in a tub. it's scary and exciting but most of all, it's a bit unbelievable :')

now by no means are these designed to replace our actual gelato - they are different products. making something for a supermarket vs. making something for a gelato store is an entirely different ball game. BUT for a huge percentage of aussies messina is unobtainable and we wanted to change that... because everyone deserves to eat pistachio praline whenever they feel like it, not just those lucky enough to live near a messina.

in our opinion these tubs are without a doubt the best supermarket gelato out there and we really hope you think so too :)

ok i'm really sorry for yapping so much but if you're still with me pls note a few important things:

1. it's FROM today.. some stores will not have stock yet and will start going on sale throughout the week. if it says unavailable on the woolies site just check back later :)

2. about 300 stores across the country will get all 6 flavours and the remaining ones will get only pistachio praline and super vanilla.

3. while you're there you might see some messina cakes on there too 👀 but more on that tomorrow (they deserve their own spot on the grid + i could not fit anymore in this post lol)
