Rebecca has a real passion for helping people and so Osteopathy is a perfect fit for her as it's meant she's has been able to help thousands of patients over the many years thats she has been an Osteopath.

Graduating in the early 2000's she has seen a wide variety of patients having worked in Melbourne, Adelaide & Sydney before settling in the Gold Coast. As such in her developing years as an Osteopath she mentored with and learnt from some of the best practitioners in Australia.

So we are really delighted to have such a hugely experienced and talented healer on our team. It's great for you the patient, but also for the rest of us here at ION as Rebecca's a very generous person who's always happy to dicuss osteopathy and pass on to her fellow practitioners what she has learnt in her many years treating adults, babies and children.

Welcome to our new clinic!!

Ion Osteo has recently moved into a new clinic, it’s just across the road from our old one so it’s super easy to find! The new address is 3/8 short street Nerang and it’s beautiful. We hope you all enjoy it as much as we do!!

Our new waiting room is very spacious and cool. We have a new couch (It’s super comfy) and a great new kids area with lots of toys!!

Pregnancy is truly a special and amazing time, a woman's body endures a whole new rage of changes! As wonderful and precious as the time may be, those changes can bring on a whole list of issues like difficulty taking a deep breath, low back pain, pelvic pain, swollen ankles and the list goes on! We love treating babies and kids at our clinic! They make up a large portion of our patient list. Deciding on whether or not your child should see someone is a VERY tricky and overwhelming question - we get it.
Questions we get asked by curious parents all the time include:

Ever sprained an ankle? Ever woken up with a 'kinked' neck? Ever torn a muscle?
These are what we call ACUTE injuries. An injury or irritation has occurred and the body is working to heal itself. Acute pain lasts only as long as it takes for the body to heal itself which can be anywhere up to 3 months (think 24-48 hours for a 'kinked' neck' or 3 months for a broken bone...)

Try to make time for the things you want to do - not just the things you need to do x

Not knowing what to expect when you see an osteopath is one of the big hurdles stopping people from getting help! Read on if you'd like to learn what you can expect in a standard osteo consult!

When you see an osteopath for the first time they'll spend some time going through relevant medical history and getting to the bottom of why you're coming in.

We'll then move onto an examination which involves a quick scan of the whole body (so we can see how everything is working together) and then a more detailed look at the regions that are directly contributing to your pain or immobility (e.g. if you come in with a sore knee we may look at your knee, hip and pelvis). A detailed physical assessment allows us to figure out what exactly is going on and how best to treat. Some clinics may ask you to wear a medical gown for this stage (however, we don't in our clinic).

Finally treatment! Osteopaths use a whole range of different techniques from quite robust movements to incredibly subtle. This means that we have a large toolbox from which we can draw from - ensuring that we can personalise every treatment and maximise results! Another big part of treatment is education - really making sure you understand what is going on in your body and how we can work together to get you feeling better!
