A 2024 re-issue of our 2nd ever beer brewed back in 2016, and one of the most ‘Please Balter, bring this beer back’ beers ever.

More classic blues than death metal, this Brown Ale is for those who love a bit of extra character without getting dark and bitter.

A smooth melody of malt plays counterpoint to clean and subtle hop notes. It’s nutty, roasty and toasty.

Perfect with tunes in the background and friends at the table.

Deep dark brown, near black with a light tan foam, aromas of fresh pine and spruce forest with light clean citrus under, thanks to classic Simcoe hops leading the charge with young guns Loral & Talus in support.

Clean medium bodied malt with light hints of roasty and smokey notes merge seamlessly with a clean distinct citrus and pine resin infused, well weighted but succinct palate.

A refined and oh so smooth bitterness adds a long, rewarding finish... a sip of a fresh mountain forest in a glass.

Kicking off at 1:30pm, Ray from Spotty Dog will guide you through creating your own masterpiece while you balance a schooner and paint brush. These sessions are family friendly and could be that fancy little Sunday arvo date, or just wanna say thanks to your mate that let you borrow their ute to move furniture.

Tickets are $45pp - All materials are provided and run for 2 hours with a complimentary drink of arrival.

Well…. ya see we’ve has teamed up with Loftus Ranches and Yakima Chief Hops to bring you the 2024 Edition of Farm to Pint. A beer that celebrates true collaboration, where farmers grow hops with passion and precision, and brewers craft beers with creativity and care. Together, they ensure that every pint tells a story of dedication and quality, right from the fields to your glass.

Pretty bloody special huh? If your eyes feel like ripping through a few tasting notes, here’s what the Head Brewer has to say about it:

“Maris Otter, rolled wheat and a well-measured dose of Munich and Cara-red malts lay down a runway of warm, rounded toasty notes and give ample support to let the new seasons hop characters take flight. Loral, Cryo Mosaic, and Citra sourced from our great friends at the legendary Loftus Farms in Moxee, Washington sends aloft notes of light passionfruit, mango, rockmelon, and blueberries. Hints of sweet jasmine and potpourri swoop and swirl in and around candy notes that compliment the rich warm malt tones and touch down for a perfect landing with a satisfyingly balanced finish”

🚨🍻 FRESH BEER ALERT === HARVESTING SUNSHINE NZIPA🍻🚨 ... A delicious hop driven beer featuring super rare experimental New Zealand hop variety NZH109. Hand selected by Scotty at legendary NZ hop man Brent McGlashen's Mac Hops farm in March this year specifically to feature in THIS beer at the Firestone Walker Invitational 2024. Layers of mango, passionfruit, papaya, peaches and candied rockmelon strut to the front, then make way for the next wave of blueberry jam, guava, and soft, lush,complex herbaceous and floral tones. A beautifully clean bitterness with a dusting of white pepper elevates up and across your senses into a super satisfying finish. Pouring now at the tappy!

A little shout out to Rosie, who has been spreading pure enjoyment in the taproom for the last seven years. Whether behind the bar, travelling interstate for beer fests, or holding a tinnie in your face whilst flashing her pearly whites ☝️, Rosie is everything Balter encapsulates. FRESH BEER ALERT 🚨🍻 “No Old Tricks” an absolute cracker 6.8% California IPA

Here’s what’s head brewer Scotty had to say…

You know how some things just work right?
Effective, reliable, stable… they just get on and do that thing they do so well so you should just leave em alone, yeah? But sometimes you can’t.

Ya gotta go and poke em, tweak em, improve them… This beer is that same impulsive itch.

With a super clean and lean malt base that glows like late summer sunlight, the dynamic mum and daughter duo of Simcoe and Mosaic lays down the old skool law of clean precise citrus, resinous pine and fragrant floral notes that helped put the West Coast in WCIPA.

Now that would have been ‘just awesome enough’ right there, but we had to fiddle with it, didn’t we… fighting the urge to just leave it and losing; we then dumped in a whack of newish kid Strata and extra super new kid NZH109 right in there and upped the ante with musky bubblegum, passionfruit, peaches and blueberries all the while bringing a smooth clingy bitterness with a muscular but agile palate weight into a pleasant lengthy finish.

Ya had to go and mess with it huh? Yep
But it worked out huh? Yep
