Even when the Kidney pulse does not feel deficient, if the cubit pulse does not beat straight after releasing the finger pressure slightly from the deep position to the bone, this indicates Kidney deficiency.

Masakazu Ikeda sensei’s explanation of the Lung pulse as stated in the 4th Difficulty of the Nan Jing/Nan Gyo/Classic of Difficulties.
“The Lung Pulse is Floating, Short, and Choppy
The function of the Lung meridian is to dissipate Yang Qi. With this being the case, it is favourable when the right inch pulse feels floating. But because the Lung organ wraps the whole body through the skin, it also has contracting functions which, in other words, means it functions like Yin Qi. Thus the Lung pulse also displays Yin Qi qualities of short and choppy.
