JpY 50 Years young tour , a journey of stories and song Hornsby RSL . Brilliant
This week's outing was to the Mezz Bar at Wallsend to see Rose Tattoo and the Poor... The Poor were formed in Darwin back in 1986 as the Poor Boys. I've only ever seen the current line up and they have the hunger, energy and balls of rock n Roll bands from years gone by.A joy to watch. Skenie is a Great front man, young Daniel Cox on Guitar is awesome and the Engine room thumps it out of the park. Love them. Do yourselves a favour if you get the chance They are off to Europe soon on tour with the Tatts..look out Europe. Phone pix from upstairs . The Mezz Bar is a great venue with live music on a regular basis they have raised, extended and lengthened the stage of late , it was teeny previously so it's even better now.
This week's outing for me was James Reyne at Toronto pub on good Friday. Celebrating 41st anniversary of Boys Light up..although seeing as it was postponed maybe more than once it's probably 42nd anniversary by now. Lots of Australian Crawl classics had the full house singing along.
On Sunday at the Bridge Hotel we were treated to an amazing afternoon of live music. Simon Meli who appeared on the Voice back in 2013 was Joined by Joel McDonald on Guitar his Brother Jordan on Drums and Bobby Poulton on Bass . These guys are known as Frankies world famous house Band . If you have been to Frankies Pizza by the slice then you know why. Also guesting was the one and only Lachy Doley on Keys..Apart from the Rocking whole lotta love, Gimme Shelter Runaway etc stand outs for me were Fooled around and fell in love and it's a Man's world. Not enough superlatives to describe this show. Made it down the front for a set. Here are some phone pics..they also played Frankies last night ..if they come together again. Do yourselves a favour
John Paul Young 50 years Young - Anniversary Tour is 4 shows in, last night was at Dubbo Regional Theatre and what a brilliant show it was you will laugh and cry with the heart felt stories told by JPY, you will be transported through 50 Year's of Music sung and played only the way JPY and his Allstar Band can so so brilliantly with Warren "The Pig" Morgan, a founding member of The Allstar Band, who cut his teeth in the original Aztecs and who has been with John since the beginning and has been joined over the years by Greg Plimmer (Drums), Paul Kirtley (percussion), Donnie Whitworth (Bass) rejoining the band after 34 years and an ongoing successful solo career is, Floyd Vincent (aka Greg Patterson) on guitar and newest member Darren Hoad on (Keyboards & Guitar)
