⛵ Congratulations to Sailability Gosford, who have secured $8,000 in funding for floating boat ramps under the Community Building Partnership Program.

❤️ Sailability provide opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy sailing on the beautiful Brisbane Waters, with sailboats skippered by experienced volunteer sailors.

Our special ticketed Christmas in July event this Saturday July 27th sold out in record time! Due to Saturday evenings event being ticketed, we will not be open to the public for walk ins, only those with pre-purchased seats will be able to join us on Saturday evening.

This week we say goodbye to long time GSC member, Arne Hansen.

Arne was a founding member of the original Gosford Yacht Club which later became the GSC, along with Mike Alsop, David Tapper and Bob Bunning & others. He also started the Etchell fleet back in the 80’s with Trevor Gowland, Bill Bowery & David Kettle.

Arne did 7 Lord Howe races on his own yacht Little Mermaid 1 & 2 with legends of the day Lloyd Pryke, Warren Maclean & Bruce Fairlie. Lenny Walpole and Arne formed a life long friendship and the families are still friends & sailing to this day.

Arne’s 5 boys started sailing at the GSC in the 70’s, and his grand children have since been bitten by the sailing bug. Sailing is in the blood.

Arne, Dad, Pop, will be sadly missed but his memory will forever live on at the GSC.

Jean, Kevin, Paul, Brian, Ross & Peter invite friends to celebrate Arne’s amazing life at Greenway Chapel tomorrow 10am, Friday 26th July.

You may have been hearing chatter about renovations at the Club, and we are excited to share that we will be renovating some of our downstairs facilities over the coming months, including a replacement of our lift to ensure accessibility to our upstairs Bistro and Sports Bar.

The renovations will be starting next week, and we will be temporarily closed for trade on Wednesday June 26th and Thursday June 27th. We apologize for any inconvenience caused but assure you that we will be open for normal trade on Friday June 28th.

The renovations will ensure an enhanced experience with us so please stay tuned for more details.
