When I was a kid I used to watch highlights of old Group C Bathursts on VHS tapes. The Group C cars were loud, bright and had different strengths and weaknesses. George Fury's 1984 Bathurst pole lap was one of the wildest ever laps and I was immediately drawn to the Nissan's that had to be wrestled around to keep up with their V8 competition. As someone who grew up in the 90s, Super Touring cars will always be the ultimate tin top racers imo. I was absolutely thrilled when I saw four Super Tourers entered for the Phillip Island Classic with one being a Mondeo V6 👌 It's a shame Australia has only just recognised Super Tourers as a historic category with nearly all the cars that were once here now overseas - the four that came over were all from NZ.
