Vibe Hobart’s CBD site once supported Hobart’s earliest colonial homesteads (circa 1820) and, in the 1930s, its hottest Art Deco dance hall, ‘The Belvedere’.
This beloved meeting place has been reimagined as the hotel’s paddock to plate restaurant and namesake Belvedere Restaurant and Bar.

Inspiration for Vibe Hobart’s contemporary style rooms has been taken from the sea & sandstone cliffs in nearby Bruny island.

The first recorded buildings on this site were built in 1820 and belonged to the renowned character dubbed “The Father of Tasmania” Anthony Fenn Kemp.
 
These bricks on display in the lobby were removed from the footings of Mr Kemps house on our site, they form a rich part of Hobart’s history and were last handled by convicts 200 years ago.
