Association members Daniel Muller, Titia Bohlken and Avery Holderness-Roddam have spent the week in North Melbourne attending Fencing Victoria's level 1 intensive coaching course.
The course forms a key step towards obtaining the nationally recognised level 1 coaching accreditation and will provide the association with coaches across all three weapon disciplines when complete.
They were joined at the course by previous Tasmanian Fencing Association president Jay Mackley which was a wonderful opportunity to learn some, previously unknown, association history!
All our TFA participants greatly appreciate the expert tutelage and instruction of Neil Hicks, Warren Breeland Clencie and the other skilled weapon specialists who volunteered their time at the course.
The TFA is pleased to announce that our champion sabuerist this year is Tim Harvest! Tim faced stiff competition during this year's annual TFA State Sabre Competition at Kingston Beach Hall on Saturday but managed to take first place.
2nd place went to our immensely skilled coach, Karina Halys, and 3rd to our resident fencing prodigy, Quincy Green Carlos. Full results can be found on the TFA website: https://www.tasfencing.org.au/individ/16891/&r=1&d=30742
Special thanks to Isaac Laredo for providing expert refereeing throughout the day, and the volunteers and coaches that helped facilitate and make the event a success.
