There's a reason why Tasmanian Oyster Co. oysters are some of the best. 🦪

Harvested in Pittwater, the oysters are balanced out by the mild saltiness and sweetness, and complemented by their smooth texture. With hints of seagrass, cucumber and green melon, you're in for a treat with their freshly farmed shellfish.

The iconic Capy Bruny Lighthouse is steeped in history and offers many stories from days gone by.

While our tours are off the cusp, we are more than happy to frequent tourist hubs so our guests can experience the authentic and valued history of Bruny Island, directly from the people who know it best.

At Eat the Wild, we love to work alongside and support local Tasmanian businesses on our tours, which is why we thoroughly enjoy collaborating with the team at Tasmanian Oyster Co. for our newest experience, the Oyster Farm Tour.

Commencing operations back in 1979, Tasmanian Oyster Co. is regarded as one of the best oyster farms in Tasmania. On our tours, their team go out to their farm at Pittwater and pick fresh oysters to be enjoyed and cooked by our guests over an open flame.

Do you fancy a drop of whisky?

We're all about encompassing the full Tasmanian experience, so if whisky is your pick of poison, you'll be delighted to know we offer a range of local favourites including the award-winning Lark, Old Kempton or Callington Mill on our tours.

We stray away from tourist hubs and busy destinations and instead choose to venture down the road less travelled. 🍃

Aside from offering delectable drops and delicious dishes, our tours also include small guided walks that showcase the stunning scenery that locals know and love.

Located in the Southern Midlands, Charles Reuben Estate's picturesque views and bespoke wines make it one of our favourite cellar doors to visit on the Beyond the Cellar Door tours.

Whether you fancy brandies and fruit spirits, love nothing more than a drop of Tasmanian wine, or want to sample their delicious Kirsh, the stunning estate has something to tickle everyone's fancy.

Aside from flavourful offerings, they also aim to be environmentally conscious in the production of their wine and spirits, and are strong believers in Paddock to Glass - how great is that!

With the kitchen set up and ready in the back of our van, we can stop wherever you'd like to indulge in Josh's freshly flipped dishes.

So whether it's a picnic table on the side of the road, a secluded beach or a spanning cliffside, we love to curate our tours to be as unique as the guests onboard.

"Our team of eight had a wonderful day with Josh, a lovely, affable host with a wicked sense of humour who took us on a culinary road trip through the beautiful Tasmanian countryside. We visited private vineyards and were served gorgeous wines and sumptuous foods made from the finest of local ingredients..."

Thanks Dan for your review! 😊

Venturing through the wilderness is well worth it when you come across spectacular views like this.

When he's not leading our tours, Josh has been busy working on an exciting project. 🤩

While our friends over in New Zealand have had a sneak peek, we can't wait to share it with the rest of you very soon! 🐟

We're strong believers that quality food can be enjoyed just as much without the crisp linen and silver service.

We much prefer ceramic dishes, stunning beach views and having the wilderness as our restaurant.

On our tours, you can be guaranteed a delicious spread, especially when your guide is a former artisanal cheesemaker.

It's because of this that Josh searches for only the most high-quality cheeses for the platters served on our tours. 🧀

We encourage our guests to take the time to enjoy the special moments in life. ✨

Have a birthday or anniversary coming up? Why not celebrate with one of our bespoke Tasmanian tours, we'll make sure it's one you won't forget.

Josh loves to add the dazzling touch to his dishes.

Whether it's by adding an extra garnish or delicious sauce, he prides himself on preparing indulgent dishes for his guests and their palettes.

06/07/2023

Josh has decades of experience crafting in the kitchen, so when decided to start Eat the Wild his favourite part was getting to flip produce from the back of his van in the middle of nature.

The stunning Roslyn 1823 vineyard is a favourite on our Beyond the Cellar Door tours.

Located in the stunning Coal River Valley, this family-run vineyard has just celebrated its 200-year anniversary, making it one of Australia's oldest cellar doors.

The lovely host, Esther, is more than happy to answer any questions or keep your glass full with your choice of white or red (we recommend their delicious Pinot Noir!).

⭐️ Fun fact - Did you know that Roslyn 1823 is Tasmania's only permaculture vineyard? This means that they use sustainable and regenerative farming methods to tend to their vines, such as using organic compost and keeping irrigation to a minimum.

02/07/2023

For Josh, starting this business was something he always wanted to do but was always conscious that there needed to be an element where he could give back to the community that has given him so much. 🤍

During the peak of the pandemic, he found that lots of older members of the community were struggling to get to the supermarkets. So he decided he would pick them up from home and help them with their shopping. He would also put meals together for them, so all they would have to do is heat them up at home.

29/06/2023

Step outside of your comfort zone and sample from the purest of sources.

On our tours, you'll get the opportunity to drink clean, pure Tasmanian water, straight from a stream. 💧
