Doing the Hobart to Ailuckland flight soon so phoned Hobart Airport to see if food and seating available in the international departures area ( read other comments that only a vending machine and seating for 50% of passengers available). The woman I spoke to said that she wasn't sure what is available. What?? She works at Hobart airport and can't give advise on facilities. Planning on getting there early to eat in domestic section prior to sitting on the floor in international departures section

Duckling update. The 6 remaining ones have grown into adults. Mum and dad have returned with them and brought some others along too. 14 in total on the lawn this morning plus some doves and sparrows.
Can't wait for Good Friday so that I can eat the spare Christmas pudding that was left over from December. Hot Crossed buns on sale at Woolies and Coles on Boxing day so yep Christmas Pudding on Good Friday. Bit confused with all this so do I scramble my Easter eggs or serve them up as an eggs Benni?
Duck update. Probably one of the last ones as mum duck and babies have become a little absent on my lawn recently. Been 2 days since I have seen them until 5 minutes ago. Hard to tell which are the babies and which is the mother now
Update on the ducklings. 6 left from 9 but they are big now ( almost half the size of mum). I dug a hole in the front lawn yesterday to drop a paddling pool in for the ( the thing one does). They are loving it.
The ducklings are thriving and getting bigger every day. I feed them dry oats and from observation they grab a beak full and put it into the water bowls I have for them so lately I have been putting the oats in the water and making like an oat milk. One has decided it is a good beauty treatment and bathing in it. Maybe I will call that one Cleopatra.
The ducklings are quite big now and manage to jump up the front stairs to the door. Mum duck is very trusting. They get fed often and run across the front lawn to greet me when I pull up in the driveway.
Nothing like a swim on a hot day
Ross the Lawn Boss has some apprentices. So tame and cute.
Mum duck has returned with 9 ducklings. She had 11 before but lost all within 10 days. These ones seem to be doing better. Quite tame and follow me around the yard
Recently I posted pics of mum duck and 11 ducklings. Sadly all ducklings have now gone. Not a good year for mum because last year 3 of her 12 survived. Dad duck has returned ( I am hoping that it is his way of comforting her). Both are now permanent fixtures on my inside front lawn. Becoming quite tame with morning and night feeds. They follow me around the garden.
Feeding time for the ducklings in the driveway. Some would rather sit in it than eat it. Maybe a new beauty secret
Delayed start to the day for Ross the Lawn Boss. Meals on wheels, well mother duck and 11 ducklings having a drink near my trailer wheel
Well yesterday I celebrated a mile stone birthday, yep 60 so I wanted to give everyone a birthday present by way of a story. For those of you who know me you will know that only a few years ago I was in severe pain daily and could hardly walk and basically felt really down and really old. Two hip replacements and one knee replacement later and now I feel 30 not 60. I just want to say to everyone that if you are feeling down or lost or confused or just want to give it all up please don't. The tunnel might be long and cold but there is always a light at the end of it. For those of you who don't know me but feel the need of a chat please hit me up, and of course those who know me already know I am their sound board. Wishing everyone a great day and a great year to come. I know I am going to make the most of it and I hope I can inspire some others.
A few weeks ago Ross the lawn boss posted a picture saying he was under supervision. Same garden today but now even more supervisors. 8 cute ducklings
This is on the back of my gardening trailer. I have known Jan Dunsby for 30 years ( or have I ?). You see Jan is one of the unsung heros around the place. Even though I have known her for so long there are things I didn't know. Things like all the community groups she is involved in, the life membership for neighbour hood watch, the involvement with the elderly and those less fortunate and of course the devotion to the council because of her love of this municipality. I say that she is an unsung hero because she does these things without wanting recognition and with no hidden agenda. She does these things because she cares about the community and the people in it. I am proud to call this lady a friend and proud to support her.
Ross the lawn boss mowed Jan Dunsby's lawn today. Don't know why the mower kept stopping? Good luck today Jan. Go the Blues lol. Don't worry, your magpie is safe and sound ( for now lol)
Moving house? What about moving tree? Yes Ross the lawn boss will help you with your move and even help you with relocating trees.
