paintings are not simply depictions but more poems

As part of our current exhibition, IMPRESSIONS LAND, SEA and SKY, Melissa Smith has produced two original prints, 'Narrative lines of the Lake I' and 'Narrative lines of the Lake II'.
A collaboration with APW Printers, each work includes lithograph and intaglio. Melissa used both drawing, etching and airbrushing to create marks on the plates, building up tone, texture and line.
IMPRESSIONS LAND, SEA and SKY continues until 12 October.

Bruce has aptly named his solo exhibition, 'The Line', because the connection between sea and sky is key.
"Living by the ocean, I often look out at the horizon. This line serves as a threshold or anchor, inviting the viewer to observe the binding of symbols and patterning."

Visit Handmark Gallery to view these remarkable works and experience his art and humor once again!
The works can be viewed in our online stockroom at https://handmark.com.au/stockroom/tom-samek/ and in person in the gallery.

"Living at Bicheno, Bruce’s last exhibition examined the interplay of light and water. But this time around, ocean reflections 'seek to illuminate layers of reality lying just beneath the surface of everyday experience.'"
Bruce's stunning exhibition feels entirely immersive as you move between layers of water, geometric abstractions and tonal shifts; it's the final week to experience this wonderful atmosphere in person at Handmark Gallery.
Exhibition can also be viewed online.
