Looking for something for the teens and tweens to do this holidays? Check out the Rec Centre! Located in between Albert's and the Innisfail Historical Society on Edith St., the Rec Centre is open Mon-Sat from 10:00am- 4:00pm. All young people aged 12-17 are welcome. Everyday there is a free lunch (and snacks!) available, and lots of cool activities (Including an Xbox, PlayStation and pool tables). The Centre is fully supervised by our youth workers.

Kura Support has some BIG things happening in the background and we can't wait to share with you our new adventures in the coming months! 🥳

Our always inspirational client, Chris, has found himself back in hospital after suffering a stroke recently. HOWEVER, he has not let this beat him!
Chris' carer, Lisa recently visited him in hospital and spent a few hours with him and now that Chris has his own wheelchair, he was able to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. The smile says it all! 🩷

Chris we are SO proud of you. Your strength and determination is unwavering and we are in awe of you each and every day. We are still here for you every step of the way and we look forward to welcoming you back home again in the near future. 😊🌼

IT'S INNISFAIL SHOW TIME!!! ❤️

Shona and participant, Verna, beat the crowds and went earlier today and it was a GREAT afternoon, they watched the horse events, visited the stalls, enjoyed cinnamon donuts, and ofcourse, didn't leave without first getting a showbag. 🥳

Kura Support wishes everyone a happy and safe long weekend this weekend. Tomorrow may be a public holiday but we are still operating as usual! 🌼🫶

Participant Chris and his support worker, K**a participated in the NAIDOC march through Innisfail this morning. It was a very moving and meaningful morning for Chris to be able to attend the march and participate in the mornings events.
We are so proud and privileged that we were able to help make that happen for Chris.
Whilst at the march, Chris also reconnected with friends from Bulla community NT, and his morning was made even more special by seeing 2 of the nurses who helped care for Chris during his lengthy hospital stay. 😊🖤❤️💛

KURA SUPPORT IS ONE! 🥳🥳🥳

What a whirlwind this past year has been. We have watched ourselves grow, our business grow, and our staff and our participants, grow over the past year. It is a very surreal feeling watching something that was once just an idea, grow and develop into so much more than just a business, what we have and continue to create, is more than just a business. It's a family, a commitment to ourselves and to those under the Kura name, it's a JOURNEY that we are all taking together. 🫶

None of this would have have been possible without the support of our amazing staff, our participants, past, present and future, and all of the relevant and wonderful stakeholders we get to liaise with on a daily basis. 🙏

Happy 1st birthday to us. Here's to another lap around the sun, chasing dreams, smashing goals, and creating beautiful memories together.

Darcy left an unstable home life at just 12 years old. As a teenager in foster care, he attended youth Drop In sports ⛹️‍♂️ at PCYC Beenleigh ─ and found the support and courage to completely turn his life around.

“My message to any youth who has gone down a difficult path is, just understand that there are people around you can talk to. And at PCYC…. we’re here,” says Darcy, now working as a PCYC Youth Support Worker 💙

PCYC’s Drop In program has one key purpose ─ to serve as a lifeline and raise the gaze of young people up and away from the streets. 🙅‍♂️🚫

This year, we’ve had more than 58,000 youth participant engagements 👏 across Queensland for our Drop In and After Dark youth diversionary programs ─ up a staggering 76 percent. 🪜 Help us extend our reach to more youth at-risk and donate today.💸

To most men, shaving their face is a given, part of their routine, and a bit if a chore to do.
For our participant Chris, however, it is a HUGE accomplishment.
After a very lengthy stay in hospital, and being home for a little over a month, Chris has been working hard at regaining his strength and mobility to take back some of his independence.
Today, for the first time since being home, Chris was able to stand at his bathroom sink and shave his face himself and we are SO EXCITED that he has reached this milestone. Chris asked that we share his accomplishment with all of you to hopefully inspire others who may be facing challenges of their own.

Chris, you look AMAZING and we love the pride you have in yourself for achieving this milestone. We are so proud and we can't wait to continue helping you achieve your goals of gaining more independence. Well done. 🩷
