This is very delayed as we were having too much fun celebrating a great dad among many. Personally this one is a stand out to us. Our kids know they are deeply loved and protected by you and I know you lead our family with wisdom, strength, love and a whole lot of fun! You’ve stepped into this role so effortlessly. We will be closed again this Saturday to continue celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary 🍾 It’s been an amazing jam packed 10 years. We’ve done a lot in just 10 years but we both can agree that our greatest privilege we’ve both been entrusted together with is raising our three musketeers. I’m sure you’ve all watched us give it a good hot crack. Avoid asking our children for feedback 😂 I know we constantly talk about community but we’ve experienced our circle of influence in action by surrounding ourselves with amazing people that have been able to speak words of wisdom into our lives as a couple. It’s been very pivotal in our growth together. We are so excited for the next 10+ years laughing, crying, parenting and growing together! Love doing life with you ❤️

Today marks one year of being at 34 Nicholas street! One year of , and Oikos all under the same roof. A year of seeing growth, partnerships, mentoring and all with you by our sides. Our regulars are what keeps this cart rolling as you are now all a part of us. Thank you for your support and being a part of good food, good coffee and most of all, good company! Thank you to all who have come along the ride this past year. It’s been better than we ever dreamt. There will be amazing music happening out of this space tonight so make sure you come out to grab a toastie and coffee from us while you hear the amazing beats by Bindii. Love doing life in community

The model for NBHD is simple, we will enjoy life more when we do life deeply together and we can do more for others when we do it as community.

NBHD is an exploration in what love actually means in practice. To lay ourselves down for our neighbour. To have a great vision for those around us, regardless of our standing or background.

When we dreamt about NBHD it was evident that the vision for it was already happening in so many ways across the city of Ipswich. Oikos has been passing on good things for 5 years now. When we moved to Ipswich it was the first place we went, we went for the coffee and very quickly the team at Oikos became our friends, our family and a huge part of our future.

Our rhythms matter. Where we go on the regular, the people we are excited to see, the food and drink that break up the monotony of the everyday.

They call these third spaces.

Spaces that we want to go to on the regular, where it matters if we are there, where the young and old, the rich and poor, the left leaning and the right leaning can come together and just be. This is why Oikos is such an important part of our whole at NBHD. It is why we have a barber and do Jiu Jitsu and Boxing. These things bring worlds together.

Our young people today do not need more activities that are focused on bringing young people together. What they need and what they crave is genuine community. They need to be surrounded by the young and the old, by families, by tradies, by everyday legends who are getting out of bed at 5am to provide for their families. They need to experience what leadership looks like in the everyday, humble moments of life.

When you choose to come to Oikos, Cornerstone or our Gym you are choosing to participate in an ecosystem that is far bigger than we often realise.

NBHD is a collaboration of like minded people who care deeply for Ipswich and have a heart for our young people. Oikos is the front door, it is the kitchen in the house, it is our meeting place, it is smile you see when you look at the whole.

You and Jeff are going to make outstanding parents and we are so excited to watch your little bundle of joy grow into an absolute champion. Thanks for all you have done.
