Meet our Team - Leah


My name is Leah Wilson and I have been a Draftsperson with Gresar Building Design since July 2022. I was previously a Project Designer with a Furniture Fit-Out company for 7 years. I have a Diploma in Interior Design and Decoration from South Bank Institute of Tafe, although I have a strong passion for building design, especially Queenslander style houses. Outside of work I am a mother of 2 young boys and I love to be creative with small projects and sewing which I then sell at local markets on the weekends.

Today we celebrated the birthdays in our office for this week. Happy birthday to Leah and Kirsty for this week.

Meet Our Team - Kirsty

Coming from a background in retail, hospitality and childcare - I've had a childhood dream of 'drawing house plans'. Having met Sarah through our motherhood journeys, I took a keen interest her business! My husband and I have four children between the ages of 6-13years old. I was a stay at home for 11 years until they were all at school when I was able to start studying a Bachelor of Building Design through Central Queensland University in 2021. Sarah also was able take me under her wing as an employee at Gresar Building Design.
It has been challenging, exciting, and fun. I look forward to working with you on your project.

Meet the team - Sarah

Hi, I'm Sarah and I have been drafting now for over 20 years! I have been running Gresar Building Design for 16 years, and I have been able to focus solely on the business for the last 14 years. We have seen it through the GFC and ridden all the highs and lows of working in the construction industry for all these years.

I absolutely love what I do. I love to help you make your dreams become a reality. I love to be given a design licence! So come and see us to achieve the best solution for your space!

I appreciate the fact that I have been able to work and raise my kids, who are now 12 and 13, and both in high school.

I am greatful that I have been able to employ fellow mums looking for fresh starts and that also need flexibility for their families also. Being able to work and empower women in the construction industry has always been a dream of mine, and I can't wait to continue to watch these ladies grow into their roles.

I am very passionate about the work I do, and I really pride myself in the quality of the plans that we produce. We have a great network of construction professionals around us that also make working each and every day enjoyable.

I look forward to continuing to meet you and work with you on your projects. :)

We had a great night last night at the Ipswich Region Chamber of Commerce - Business Excellence Awards. We were a finalist in the Building and Construction category. While we didn't win this year, it was a huge honour to be recognised as a finalist. Here are some of the pics from the night.

Greg treated me and took me in my first ever a Limo ride to and from the event. (Bucket list tick). Without his support, we wouldn't be where we are today. He helps in the office around working full time, he does our payroll, admin and many other things to help me out.

Thank you so much to Kirsty-Lea and Leah, as without them, we wouldn't be able to continue the great service we offer our clients. They are often in the office drafting plans while i am on the phone or sitting with clients going through their changes. They are now the backbone to the business, pumping out the plans for all our amazing cleints.

A massive thank you to both sets of parents. Without their support, we wouldn't be able to do what we do without their love and support. They help me so much with the kids when i am busy looking after client's, or attending our site meetings.

We are so lucky to have such an amazing team and supportive family so that we can continue to offer a great service to our clients and builders network. We love what we do, and i look forward to continuing to plans for all clients.

Today is 2023 Building Designers Day!

As a building designer, I (Sarah) absolutely love what I do and how I can help people bring their dreams to life. I love the challenge that some jobs bring and also being given the design licence on some jobs to make something new and interesting.

If you know a building designer, today is the day to reach out and encourage them and let them know they are doing a great job.

We love to help all our clients, and we truly appreciate all the wonderful referrals that you all give to others directing them to come to us for help.

We look forward to continuing to service ipswich and the western corridor for many more years to come.
