Today we had the pleasure of handing over our latest green energy upgrade,to a wonderful couple...John and Ros
This great sunliner motorhome was presented to us in a pretty ordinary state,as far as the electrical system and installation was (see previous post)..
John had a variety of components that he was keen on retaining, and may I say I am pretty impressed with the outcome and performance of these products, that we would not normally entertain!...may I say,I would not hesitate to install these products for a system of this calibre,should the customer choose, source and supply ....
Namely the Kings batteries 🔋 Renogy inverter and..another first....a 240v refrigerator!
Other components that are the norm here,include.....
Victron Energy solar MPPT's,DCDC charger,Bmv 712 shunt and monitor
Enerdrive Dometic solar panels and AC charger
Bluesea isolators and MCB's
Shervey fusing and misc components

It's that time of the year... Solar is struggling!

If you're battling through limiting your power usage on the road, you're not alone. Over the Winter solstice we have the least daylight hours, and we've also had very few good bright days with the weather here in Melbourne right now.

Here's an example of what a 400w panel (flat mounted on the roof) has generated over the past few weeks. Since June 10th it's been parked where it can get pretty much full sun from midday. The best day it produced just 600Wh, It was clear almost all day. The worst day (yesterday) it produced a wimpy 50Wh.

After nearly 3 weeks we're up from 34% to 90% charge on 2 Scouts.

In comparison, a perfect day in Summer this panel should be able to produce more like 5kWh, which would have had these at 100% in just one day.

These are the times when a good DC-DC converter running at maximum capacity will enable you to keep using most of the creature comforts you've come to love.

Jump starting Lithium Batteries – Some dos and don’ts - PowerPaul Australia It’s well known that when Lithium batteries go into a protection mode (i.e. the BMS disconnects the load due to a fault), they sometimes need a “Jump Start”

What batteries will fit?...perfect 2 x PowerPaul Australia Pty Ltd 300 scouts, in our own sealed enclosure

Relocate water pump in a hidden void that we cut access to,with change over tap system,to enable tank isolation and creek draw via the pump

All that left plenty of room for the massive Enerdrive Dometic 2600 watt inverter...and yes there will be plenty of ventilation!

The beauty of being a diesel heater sales and service centre....I get to use my own test bench...toasty!

Had this trailer in for diesel heater not turning on,found these connectors had a bath at some time(zoom in)...will be removing this mess of connectors and excess wiring,after the customer has had a well earned break(temporary repaired to keep him on track)..also found where something had been resting on the exhaust pipe as it was not protected from goods stored in locker!...could have been..well...not good🔥

An epic Enerdrive Dometic system,in the birthing suite,along with a small touch of Victron...

And another boot install....going to be a cracker...keep you posted!
