💚thank you to Zak’s support worker Sha, for all the love and guidance he has given Zak through this next chapter of his life💚

It won’t be long til what I use to call the 💚dreaded school holidays being,💚 mentally they were the hardest days for me “I’m starving” “I’m bored” “there’s nothing to do” and the list goes on 🤪🤦‍♀️😆

anywhere💚and today we did just that, we did Tristan’s haircut on the staircase💚 while he took photos of all the cars driving past💚

💚Tristan was so happy and we completed his haircut with very few breaks, I think we only stopped cause we were laughing so much💚

💚Everyone give David a HUGE Hi5💚

💚Davids dad reached out to me 6 months ago looking for help and support with getting his son’s haircut. He told me that David didn’t like scissors on his skin or clippers, doesnt like the wrap and he’s a runner💚
💚so on Davids first appointment it was a haircut on the run💚

💚But look at David today💚

💚We had a very happy mum & dad today who could sit back and relax (just like David did) take some photos and watch their little man shine💚

💚I just want to say a HUGE Thank You to all the families I’ve had the pleasure in meeting this year and also to all of you who have shared the love of Calming Cuts.💚
💚I will be taking a short break over Christmas/New year, but I will be back on the road and in my salon from Monday the 8th of January 2024💚

💚The best part about Calming Cuts are my clients who have taught me so much, like Bluey is a girl, given me tips on how to fix the iPad, Jonathon is the purple wiggle😍and that I’m much fitter then I thought😆💚

Next week is going to be a big week in our house as Zak will be starting full time employment at Wallara Logistics where he will be working in his dream job, cooking in there cafe..
So in preparation for the big day Zak insisted on going to the barbers, which is great for Zaks communication.. But your gotta laugh when Zak tells the guy “don’t be scared but my mum is watching and she’s a hairdresser 😆😆

💚Its a massive 3 cheers to Tommy today 👏👏👏

💚I’ve been doing Tommy’s hair in his home since April 2021
But today 2 years on, Tommy came to visit me in my home salon, where I had some cheezles to celebrate the occasion 💚

💚Not only did Tommy sit calmly and independently, he even let me use the clippers for the first time💚

2 huge achievements in one session💚

💚BIG SHOUT OUT to Sean 💚

Sean and his family have been traveling all the way from the northern suburbs to visit me, so I can support Sean throughout his hair journey.

It was all hands on deck for mum and dad to help support Sean through his first few haircuts with me💚
Sean would stand in the doorway of the salon to have his haircut, taking lots of breaks, watching the iPad, and me reassuring him with my words explaining what I was about to do, so we could successfully complete his haircuts.

💚BUT WAIT…💚

Last week Sean made 💚HUGE💚progress
Sean was happy to stand in front of the mirror independently to have his hair done… but then he took the big leap and sat in the chair so I complete his haircut!
💚While Sean’s mum and dad could sit back and enjoy watching their boy shine.💚

💚So let’s give three cheers to Sean💚

💚 Everyone give Kevin a hi 5 👋🏻 💚

💚I met Kevin and his family in December 2022for his first haircut with me, and as you can see by the first lot of photos, we explored a lot of my home while having his hair done 😀
💚 Fast forward to today and what incredible progress we have made 💚
💚 I greeted Kevin at the door and he had a big smile on his face 😃and without hesitation he strolled straight into my salon and started exploring the toys. I asked him if he would like to wear the wrap and he was happy to do so. ✅
💚Once we completed Kevin’s haircut on the floor, I asked him if he would like to try sitting up in the big chair to check out his new hairdo. He jumped up and was more than happy to give it a go💚
💚This was a perfect opportunity for me to discuss with Kevin about having his next haircut in the chair, and he replied with a big grin 😃💚

💚 So well done Kevin on making great progress

💚I’ve been visiting Wyatt in his home for the past couple of years. At the start he wasn’t keen on having his haircut, but we have been slowly building his confidence during this time, celebrating his achievements along the way 💚

💚But Today was a BIG day 💚

💚Wyatt visited me at my home salon for the very first time😀
💚We started with Wyatt exploring my home. (This helps my clients feel safe and comfortable in a new environment)💚
💚Then Wyatt ventured into my salon, where he made himself comfortable standing at the hair station where he practiced his hairdressing skills✂️😀
💚With wrap on we both started using our clippers✔️💚
💚During this time we asked Wyatt if he would like to sit in the chair and look what happened 😀✂️💚

💚Very Proud moment for all of us💚

💚When making an appointment in my home salon for the first time.💚
I will normally ask what the child’s hair experience has been so far and what the child’s interests are.
💚This helps me plan the appointment and set up the space to make them feel comfortable. 💚

The year was 2006 when i convinced Zak to bring his much loved Dora for the Santa photo, he was obsessed with her, so much so that Zak could speak Spanish better then he could communicate in English 💚
Looking at this gorgeous photo you would think we got through it unscathed 🤦‍♀️

Zak kept pointing at Dora and saying Dora, Dora
Santa said who’s Dora 😳
So I’m guessing by now some of you will guess what happened next🤦‍♀️

💚I first met Enrico back in August he was very upset and anxious when he arrived. 💚
💚So we started with exploring my house to make him feel safe and comfortable. 💚
💚Enrico made himself very comfortable in my sons bed, so with my trusty scissors and comb in my hand, we worked together to complete his haircut in bed 💚😂✂️😀

💚Fast forward to today and I greeted Enrico at the door with his favourite show already playing on my IPad, wiping away his tears Enrico sat on my couch and told me he didn’t want a haircut.

💚But LOOK what happened 💚😀

💚The tears dried up and we completed the haircut together
