Craftsman Hardware

A total tools and workwear solution that provides quality products and knowledge for construction and

20/12/2023

We have invested heavily, emotionally, time, and physically this year.

It is because we don't trust many people, to be able to act in the best interest of Australia and the people who reside in it, that we do what we do.

We are sorry and feel complete empathy for anybody out there who has lost due to a number of failed companies this year in the workwear and tooling area of the industry.

We have opened up Free Shipping on all orders over $200 over the break if there is something that we are able to provide that hasn't been delivered.

Firstly, I recommend you contact your payment provider. Whether it be PayPal or Bank Card to refund the undelivered order. You are protected. Undoubtedly.

Get that cleared up.

Then, if there is something we can do to help you overcome it and get what is required, feel free to get in contact. Or as stated above, if it's on the website, please enjoy Free Shipping. Regardless.

Wearing the cost of shipping is the least we can do, to help keep the world and builders, keep on keeping on.

20/12/2023

Anybody who knows us knows we hate wasting.

We also hate hoarding too.

A balanced, sensible solution is always best.

That's why we are stocking the mini cartridges of products in the future to help our customers minimise wastage, and open only what is necessary on the job rather than open the larger cartridges and have waste.

You know it makes sense.

Do you really know what your drill press is capable of? 🤔

18/12/2023

As soon as I finish setting it up.. it is going to a new home.

It was lovely while it lasted MW1000.

Going out to site to begin its life as a fitout bench which is exactly what we intended it for.

To clamp down your work pieces and have full stability when working the end profiles or even simply to sit a drill press on and cut timber plugs. Either either, the benefits are endless with the .de Mobile Worktable.

18/12/2023

People have asked why there was a truck up on our story.

Good question..very relevant. And I will tell you.

Because once upon a time, I was just like you.

I was on the tools slogging away.

But my speciality, was doing projects, and almost never being seen or heard. Like a ghost.

If you live in Eastern suburbs Melbourne, all the way to Healesville, you will probably drive past a number of my projects in local council reserves.

How to make a big job done, with little to no impact.

Where do you think the idea to have people become their own suppliers comes from? It's not magic. It is the ability to realise what is actually truly capable with so very little. But the little you do have, is so immaculate, it is like having more than having a lot.

You wouldn't think, but this outdoor stairs, handrail fabrication and all, was built and finished in only two days. And it still stands strong and proud, today.

17/12/2023

I doubt many people have come across somebody who has done something stupid like nailed timber to wet paint which created a bond between the timber and paint.

But if you do ever come across something stupid like that, and you don't want to damage the wall, or when you want to remove architraves, get yourself the HDC Chisels.

To be able to run flush down the wall, and pry open between the two surfaces.

15/12/2023

Organise your setup up, so you can cut down on the time looking for something specific half way through the day, and you can just keep working.

Every minute you're looking, you're losing on working.

Every minute you're carrying excessive amount of equipment, you are probably slowing down.

There are three types of workers in construction.

Lookers. Who constantly walk around and look for things.

Workers. Who knows where everything is, so they just need to worry about working because it's easy enough to get what you need, when you need it.

Packhorse. Who walks around carrying everything all day on them so they don't have to set up a system where they know where everything is, and are unsure when they will actually need something specific, so it is carried around all day.

We prefer the workers ethic. But we all know somebody who is a looker or a packhorse. Right?

15/12/2023

Like anything, you have to build this, to fit that in. But you have to do that before you do this.

When it comes to portable workshop solutions, we have two really awesome solutions and both of them are portable.

One is workshop portable, the RUWI MASCHINENBAU Lifting Table.

The other, the TANOS MW 1000 Mobile Workstation with foldaway table.

Carry your tools, place it in the van, have a healthy workstation to work on all day through.

The small amount of organisation and investment, with huge benefits.

Everything, starts with the foundation.

Yes, you're right. One day you will probably look more European on worksites. But with a societal system that is built on compact spaces, high volume and industrial results, who better to look at for inspiration on healthier workplaces?

Germany is strong for industrial. Sweden is focussed on humanity. Australia is an island. It's only an island, if we want it to be cut off.

Available from Craftsman Hardware.

A gentle reminder for the new year, that we stock a range of products.

In 2024, we are going to show you why a hardwax oil, even on your MDF workbenches, will help prolong the aesthetics and the life of your bench tops.

It seems excessive, but good things, usually do come across that way if you're not used to doing it.

14/12/2023

It took about 2-3 minutes to assemble this cabinet made by Gary.

As I elegantly said to Franziska when we were doing it, many of us will sit there every day, just purchasing whatever is around.

Not many of us, will go out and start on a small scale if need be, to create great options to start creating product development.

We just wait, hope, and expect, somebody else will do it for us.

These cabinets were designed by Craftsman Hardware, working with a customer of ours, to build these flat packed units to go out to workshops around Australia.

Priced at $220, excl. .de and rails or drawers, these are built to take both types of mounting systems!

And when you don't need the space for SYSTAINERS, you can start to use them for shelving of screws too!

So simple that it is almost crazy to think nobody has done it before.

14/12/2023

Just remember that for about $100 you can buy 10k followers on Instagram.

Out of 1,000 followers, 95% of those people might be struggling in one of multiple ways, so they don't react to your photos or videos.

Social media is for socialising.

If you're in it for a round of applause, you should have joined the circus.

We are just here, opening up cans of worms, not making fun of.

It won't always be enjoyable and make you feel better, but sure as s**t our product range can help you get things done better.

Throw back a the way to April 2021 right here.

That's right, even if you only just realised we supplied them today, it took you 2 and a half years to realise Craftsman Hardware supplies FAMAG Forstner Bits.

Photos from under scrutiny.

A precisely produced FAMAG Bormax2 Forstener Bit producing an extremely clean and quality cut hole.

Would you be interested in precision measuring equipment from Vogel in Germany?

There is precision, then there is well built precision.

If we are going to supply something, we prefer option B.

With the last shipment for the year in from .de, our schedule now opens up for booking a lifting table or milling machine for 2024. With 2024 arrival dates ending in mid April, you really don't have much time to sit and kick around with the idea.

RUWI MASCHINENBAU the first name you should remember for agile and flexible workshop setups.

12/12/2023

No matter the site conditions, our Wacker Neuson WL20e, can get in and around wherever it needs to deliver, day or night.

An electric machine, capable of lifting 1200kg.

Available for dry hire also, you have the ability to pack and stack, and load heavy materials for recycling on site. Or just get larger moving parts to where they need to be.

Get in touch with Craftsman Hardware for more information.

Now available at Craftsman Hardware!

We got everything we needed to import, in, and now it's time to start building a catalogue of good solutions like the range of FlexFit Caps.

Combined with embroidery or our range of affordable heat transfers from Sweden, we really have the whole thing covered 🔥

11/12/2023

I like to think we got the balance just right.

Is there something in the product range you really feel that we are missing out on? Something that really needs attention to be developed in Australia?

11/12/2023

Some people have some really great equipment and drills, but the standard chuck might be a keyed chuck, or maybe it doesn't have a low or high enough clamping capacity.

There's a difference between a bad machine and an ordinary drill chuck.

Craftsman Hardware supplies Bohrcraft Drill Chucks with a capacity as low as 0.4mm up to 16mm.

So, it might be just a matter of upgrading your drill chuck rather than needing a new machine.

09/12/2023

What are you going to fit into your pockets?

The things you can do with functional workwear.

Tell me how to remove timber coatings an easier way.

Just 5 minutes later, and the stains and marks are almost off.

The Restorer Tool is a great way to bulk remove coatings in a bulk manner using the 46 Grit Paint Remover.

Busy morning!

now available at Craftsman Hardware in Cheltenham!

A great addition when you are using FIDDES, CUTEK or OSMO products which are also, found at Craftsman Hardware.

Get your painters trousers, and paint brushes, all in one place!

You have always associated Blaklader Workwear with trousers and shorts right? Because, typically that's what you need would think a workwear brand does, right?

Maybe in Australia. It would be a lot of work and probably unnecessary for somebody to create an entire range of garments to cater for every walk of life.

But Blaklader, they do the whole lot. Gloves, socks, hats, shirts, tees plus the typical shorts and trousers too.

They get the whole lot done.

05/12/2023

No matter which version of you, you are today, they all would like Blaklader Workwear 🔥

05/12/2023

NEW NEW NEW! New in store!

I hate to say that we are a one stop shop, but that's what we are..

It sounds so dirty to say that..

I prefer to say, we are a supplier of only good solutions and quality products.

Whether that fulfills all demands and needs, we aren't going to assess. But we do know our range of quality and performance products is extensive.

We do it, because everybody deserves the ability to access the products.

That's not a right you should expect elsewhere, because not everybody agrees on that principle.

That's a respect for you, from us.

04/12/2023

If you're not clearing 10% margin on the products you supply to a project, even if you think you win from building it, you're ultimately losing money. Even just a small amount for admin and purchasing time.

The question is are you operating a business? Or do you just not want to work for somebody else?

04/12/2023

We have a range of T Shirts up on the website in the discount section.

And at that price, it really puts into perspective that buying better, doesn't actually cost anymore.

03/12/2023

The Blaklader 1555 and 1556 Craftsman Trousers are an affordable trouser with same Blaklader quality at an entry level function into the functional workwear side of things.

From there, it starts to move into 4-way stretch, stretch panels and onwards.

But for just trying out and getting into functional workwear, these trousers are a great place to start.

03/12/2023

All we really want to do is just supply good options.

That's why you can find SPAX Screws at Craftsman Hardware ✅

We believe that consumerism in Australia, is the similar mistake OxyContin was to the United States of America.

What many do on social media, driving products excessively forward, leads back to consumerism at a root cause.

Neglect, as parents which drives anxiety and depression forward, can be root caused back to concumerism.

Child neglect with televisions and technology, can flick switches in the gene pool and neurological paths, which can increase the risk of children developing into sociopaths and psychopaths, with a root cause of consumerism.

People endlessly spend more than required, and remain unhelped, and under developed, with a root cause, of being consumed in consumerism, rather than developing to an individual performance level.

OxyContin was so popular, made so many people, so rich, at the cost of the health of the ordinary persons.

People that relied on it, never saw it coming, that one day, it could end so badly.

When it comes to consumerism, just say no 🚫

We have two awesome options for branding workwear!

Both of them are extremely affordable.

Realistically, it is probably going to be the most affordable and flexible option in the Pacific!

Option 1. For business and industrial customers who contract their workwear choice as Blaklader with Craftsman Hardware, we can get Blaklader Workwear to pick, and press prints straight to your garments from the shelf. An efficient, cost effective solution to keep your branding on hand, and pressed on demand with no MOQ, just the purchase of the prints.

Option 2. We can have our Swedish partner print your prints, with a print purchase of 25 minimum, that we ship in, and press on demand here. At just $4.80 for a chest print, I can promise you, that you won't find better locally.

Transforming the way uniforming and branding is done!

29/11/2023

I want you to build me something. I know what it's worth, but I want 10% discount from it, because I know that it's worth more, and I would feel better paying what I feel comfortable with.

I saw your car out the front, that's a $70,000 ute. You only drive something like that, when you charge more than enough every day.

Now, I don't care about the fact you have mouths to feed at home, your children are not my children, so it doesn't bother me what they grow up to be or where they end up.

You want to grow your business? Why's that my problem? I don't care if you have enough work that you actually really need more people.

And then, other people? I don't care how you get the job done, just make sure I don't have to start burying dead bodies in the backyard.

It doesn't matter to me what happens in twenty years, I just need my job done.

NOW, imagine if people really had a big pair to be honest and said what they felt, and this statement were to be true and accurate.

This is what a purpose driven brand hears when you say it's too expensive.

The problem is, you might not know what things are actually worth.

You might not even understand what you're worth.

In fact, if you compare two things that aren't identical, and don't operate the same, and weren't built based on the same principles, then they're not comparable.

So, no. Most of our product range isn't comparable to anybody elses product range.

We value real people and quality products.

A quick trip down to Gippsland this morning to visit and deliver the RUWI MASCHINENBAU Lifting Table and play with FAMAG 1663 TCT Forstner Bits, drilling through hundred year old Redgum, like butter.

As we all start to learn the local stuff isn't always what it's made out to be. But, we all learn, and develop.

I highly recommend if you are in the Gippsland area, to get in touch with Anthony for custom timber work pieces.

With the world and standard of flame retardant workwear slowly but surely looming over many in the electrical industry, isn't it refreshing to know that somebody is already well catered for it? 🤗

That's right, Blaklader Workwear already produce a range of Multinorm and FR Workwear in both mens and womens fit, to ensure you meet the standards of protection required.

28/11/2023

For four years we have been working towards the recession the interest rates that have come around..

For four years, we were trying to point out that the higher investment in simple things like trousers, would almost definitely save you money long term.

If you purchased these trousers 4 years ago, at $270 each, let us say you purchased two pairs just to make it sound reasonable.

That would be $540 outlay. You would have had your kneepads in when you needed, had holster pockets which can improve your productivity, by remaining light and agile with the bare essentials.

Maybe increasing your productivity by say, 30 hours over the 4 years, which at $35 an hour is $1050. So you would have almost doubled on your investment there.

This is where non-linear thinking comes into it.

Now, because you've only had two pairs of trousers, it lowered the demand for workwear, and kept the country lean, which meant we would have had more cash available, and interest rates wouldn't have shot up as steep as they have.

But, because there's so much workwear sitting, waiting for you, that's all cash sitting there, which isn't in the hands of the RBA to pay the long term bills for us all.

So, interest rates go up, which takes up the cost of fuel. But the fuel needs to be transported, which takes the price of transporting the fuel up, which increases the price of fuel, which is needed to deliver thousands, hundreds of thousands of garments, that don't have a productive purpose.

So then the price of the garments go up, and they end up costing the same as just buying quality and performance garments from the start. Maybe more.

By saving money, it ended up costing all of us, more.

That, is economics. That's before you start talking about fuel consumption, slavery, or the environment 🤗
