The Yoga Field

The Yoga Field offers a Sunday Morning Community Yoga Class.

Whether you are new to yoga, sometimes practice, or practice regularly...there is space for you here.

03/08/2024

Hello 👋

Today, I decided to have a winter break from offering Sunday Yoga until springtime.

I've been waiting on some dates and arranged a couple of trips on the island with family in the next two months, have my monthly herbal class, and some further elements training in ZenThai Shiatsu to look forward to.

There'll be quite a few Sundays away in the mix, starting with one in Derby next week😍 Looking forward to the trails, the hot tub, and a warm fire.

I look forward to refining my offering in the springtime and sharing my passion for seasonally and elementally inspired movement and bodywork❤️

In the meantime, wherever you are, whatever you are up to, may the wattles warm your heart til springtime comes🙏🏽

Warmly,
TJ

Hello 👋 YOGA NEXT WEEK

Communal practise has been quiet of late. The ebb to the flow. There's been some discontinuity in my weekly class due to a combination of annual community holiday dates, family sick days, and monthly herbal studies this year.

Tomorrow, I'll be getting into the Herbal Roots course in nipaluna yet again. An enriching and beautifully beneficial offering that is serving me, family, friends, and hopefully The Yoga Field, too.

Today, the hall was fully booked (how wonderful), so communal yoga practise at the local community hall will continue next week🙏🏽

Returning to strengthening my core movements and practises in the winters is such a lesson in the relationship between relaxing and contracting. This deep, seemingly complex yet simple work warms and opens my heart and soul. My eyes and ears are always soon to follow.

Seeing and hearing me.
Softly at first, loud and clear soon❤️

See you soon.
🙏🏽TJ

Hello 👋

It's that time of year again...
Plenty of lemon peels swimming in vinegar, soon to be strained and removed for some well needed home cleaning solution.

Speaking of cleaning, and in need of cleansing and clearing...
While filling my cup this winter, I came upon a simple reminder to "Empty, empty, happy, happy." (From one teacher to another, shared by my ZenThai Shiatsu teacher, Gwyn Williams.)

A good mantra for when the lemons go, and my winter cleansing continues...
Empty, empty, happy, happy.

Come on over to the Lachlan Hall for your yoga tomorrow.

Get to the bare bones of whatever it is for you. Send some love and attention to the depths of your core.

🙏🏽TJ

Hello 👋

We are turning our attention to our cores in the next coming weeks.

While we're in the most yin time of the year, we can practise restfullness and a slow cool burn.

Because nothing burns like the cold, and nothing is cooler than being cool😎

See you at yoga.

HELLO 👋
❌️NO YOGA TOMORROW
I've a home full of highly infectious sickies this weekend. 3 of the 4 of us. I'm yet to go down, but I am the current captain.
Aye aye🙋🏽‍♀️
Leaning in on our powerhouse of a fire cider, among other things...
Like some soft sing alongs, and quiet in-between sit spots.
The seas have been a little rough these last few days for the unwell. I'll be keeping my feet planted, hips soft, and gaze broad on the horizon in my home practise tomorrow.
Hope you are all well, warm, and soaking up some sunshine this weekend, and that you find time for your practise❤️
See you next week🙏🏽

28/06/2024

Hello 👋

This Sunday, I'm attending another Herbal Roots Course day in nipaluna. So Yoga will be going ahead tomorrow morning, Saturday at 10am.

I've been enjoying getting back to my roots, literally and vegetably🙃

If you're feeling rooted this winter, get yourself to yoga, turn that rootedness into groundedness❣️

See you at yoga tomorrow if you can.
TJ🙏🏽

Hello 👋
Yesterday was both the Winter Solstice and International Yoga Day❤️

We celebrated with a dip in the Derwent, a riverside fire with hot soup, tea, hot chocolate, and good company.

Tonight, under the full moon, wandering the paddocks led by my little ones lanterns, we asked ourselves...
What lights me up?
What makes my heart sing?
There were falls in the dark, light shared as flames were lost and reignited, conversation, and silences too.

My yoga practise leads me to ask and respond to wonderings and curiousities like these. The winter repose and reset is a wonderful time.

Come along for a Winter Solstice Class that leaves space for your own wonderings and curiousities. Stay for a tea and snack after class if you wish, or take a snack home.

May your practise light you up, and make your heart sing🙏🏽

Hello 👋
The wintery time for depth over distance is upon us.
Earlier in the week, we joined friends to the Growling Swallet. It's a beautiful place where the Junee River descends underground. Here, it flows through Australia's deepest cave, carving its way through the Junee-Florentine karst system before eventually finding its way back up to the surface. Today, my two kiddos crafted their own cave inspired by their time there, complete with treasures, of course.
Carve out some time tomorrow morning, dive in, practise depth over distance, and we too may discover our treasures❤️
See you at yoga🙏🏽

Hello 👋

Came upon this mural (couldn't find the artists name) off Harrington St in nipaluna today.

Was walking by in some post yin yoga class vibes and saw...
Eyes open on the inside...
Eyeball waterfalls...
A cool spoken blue tongued Winter Witching Wizard.

What do you see?

Earlier today, I woke to our first big frost. A winter feast of its own kind, on the eyes.
The fogs, frosts, and winter effects are here, and our practise will begin to shift.

See you at yoga🙌

Hello 👋

Introducing...Saturday Yoga for tomorrow! It's out of the blue because this Sunday is the first of six, once a month, in person learning Sundays I've committed to. It's a Herbal Roots course I have so been looking forward to joining❣️I will share the future dates for once a month Saturday Yoga in advance🙏🏽

The cooler months are such a good time to shift, diving deeper into what nourishes you at your core.

My autumn garden practise, cuttings, prunings and all, is a true dividend distributor and negative space maker.

🍂May knowledge be shared and received.
🍂May deep hollows become known.
🍂May we positively visit the negative spaces autumn clears for us.

Hope a little Saturday Yoga here and there will serve you too🙏🏽

Hello 👋
So looking forward to practising together tomorrow🙏🏽
My two little foraging fellas are back to their wild and well ways.
Hiding in the food forest, finding the last of the apples, and seeking mouthfuls of mytrus berries.
Whatever your wellness looks and feels like...I trust that you'll find it, and that it'll find you🙏🏽
May the hidden be revealed, may lost become found.
If you have a moment tonight, open up your eyes are ears... you may see or hear the bonfire and fireworks at cracker night🔥🎆🎇🔥
See you for yoga🙏🏽

YOGA CANCELLED TODAY❌️🚫
My little ones have been unexpectedly unwell with a bug through the night. It's been a vomit marathon for them both this week. I thought it was all over yesterday, but it seems the last of it is still lingering. On the up, but not fully well yet. Wishes for wellness❤️

This mama needs to be at home.
Thanks for your understanding.
See you next week🙏🏽

Hello 👋

The late autumn fall is here. Chilly fogs lurking.
Seasoned seedlings and bulging bulbs longing to return to earthen soil, yearning life after dormancy first.

Join me for yoga practise that softens into the autumn free-fall, as truthfully and trustfully as the seasoned seedling, the bulging bulb.

With reverence for the revenant🙏🏽

Digging on mothers, mothering, and mother nature. It's wild, it's wonderful and it's neck deep too.

Speaking of wild...head outside tonight, look to the south, and witness the Aurora❣️

See you next week🙏🏽

Today I am the nutcracker...

"Surrender to yoga, for where is the conflict when the truth is known?" ~ Krishnamacharya

The truth is...I am flying solo for a dozen days while my partner is away for work! I'll be with my kiddos tomorrow. I'll need these wise words while I practise at home with kids style🙃

Yoga is back next week👍

May you be true to yourself.

Hello 👋

I'm loving the late bloomers this autumn.

I'm feeling a bit like one myself after a beautiful week celebrating my birthday.

The festivities continue.

Come along for yoga tomorrow. Join in a post yoga, socially and spiritually warming cold dip in the Derwent if you fancy. Our local Autumn Festival alongside the River Derwent may too, beckon you.

With warmth and encouragement❣️

06/04/2024

Hello 👋

A couple of weeks ago, I pulled a card after a gifted KaHuna bodywork session. It read, "Invite Help."

It was a timely and potent message. That day was full of help I didn't necessarily verbally ask for, but it was so generously and lovingly given, and I received it wholeheartedly🫶

I felt nourished and soothed. I welcomed and deeply appreciated this help offering.🙏🏽

So I ponder, I practise and pose the question, "What might my world look, sound, taste, smell, and feel like if I actually INVITED help on a more regular basis?".

There are infinite ways to practise this invitation. One simple way I am practising this autumn is through my nightly bedside table.

If it were an invitation, it might read like this...

I invite healing and wellness into my body, mind, and spirit. May this beautifully seasoned body, mind, spirit, and space be cleansed. May my path be helped, bathed in the light, warmth, and wisdom of those who came before me and those who surround me.

If you are sending out an invite, may help be on its way❤️

See you at yoga.
With warmth, TJ🙏🏽

HELLO 👋 NO YOGA TOMORROW

This week, I've invited the one pot dinner, the bedside candle, beautifully moving lyrical tunes, and some forest meandering.

In the midst, I completed my first certifications in KaHuna Bodywork (watch this passionate space), received the gift of it too from a beautiful body worker and teacher, while accepting help from a fellow homeschooling mama.

I'm loving the process and moments of giving thanks for the so muches, and the seeming so littles.

All in support of opening up to the breaking down process that autumn presents us. In fact, if break-dancing has a middle aged, slow motion, mystical cousin...
I'm befriending her❤️
We are on the dance floor, literally, gettin' down.

How are you inviting/accepting/giving thanks/breaking down this autumn?

Love to hear from you as always.

See you next week.

Hello 👋

Just home from an afternoon and evening cooling off in the river. The balmy still air tonight is so welcome after the heat and hot winds in the valley today.

Wherever your long weekend has taken you, may you be late summer blooming in your own way and at your own pace.

Look forward to practising with you tomorrow.

🙏🏽TJ

02/03/2024

Hello 👋

Well, thank goodness for this❣️

This summer, I'm overwhelmed with the fierce thistle protector in my garden. But the flowers still bloom nonetheless. And I must stop to see and smell them, even if they are amongst the thistles, they too have their own intricate bloom💚

Come along for a yoga practise tomorrow that's centred around gratitude for what's in bloom for you right now.

Looking forward to practising with you.

HELLO👋

It's been a while!

I really leaned into the summer vibes and my years intention of KINSHIP as the new year turned. So things got a little quiet at The Yoga Field over the first half of summer. It's been a wild time in creeks, rivers, oceans, and lakes, camping under the stars, connecting with people and places, soaking up sweetness from our garden and life in general. May the absence here make our hearts grow fonder❣️

A summer haiku from me...

River kayaking.
Swimming in sweet abundance.
Forest umbrellas...

P.s. Blood, sweat and tears too🫶

Stay cool. I hope this year welcomes you as you realise your intention. See you at yoga. 9am at the Lachlan Hall. BYO mat + blanket.

With late summer love,
TJ🙏🏽

16/12/2023

HELLO 👋

It's my last class for the year❣️

Shake things off... or shake things up with your Sunday yoga tomorrow.
Give yourself what you need with a practise inspired by the longest day of the year before the turn of the year.

"If you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit." ~Banksy

Is your year winding up, or is it winding down?
Todays garden harvest reminds me to counter summer work and play with the blessing of resting, too.

A summer haiku for you❤️

Shake, simmer, and stir.
Fragrant, buoyant chamomile.
Little suns beguile.

There's plenty more chamomile and other teas where that came from❣️
Stick around for a cuppa after class if you wish🫶

Sending you summer love and shade these holidays while counting chamomiles and blessings❤️

TJ🙏🏽

09/12/2023

Hello 👋

Long time no see!
The searing, sunny, silly, social season is upon us.
Let's show up for some summer vibes yoga❣️
Shake your tail feathers, spread your wings, and soar with me tomorrow 9am at the Lachlan Hall.

With summer love ❤️
TJ

02/12/2023

Hello 👋

I have my kids this Sunday, so we are going to enjoy some summer fair fun. Some very welcome fun after a busy and challenging week.

Summer is here. Growth is everywhere. The summer crescendo is within range. It's time to arrange a sweet little summer sit spot. Some place to step aside, sit, swing, stroll, skip.

I'm remembering there's the sweetness...and there's the sweat too.

See you at the fair this week, and next week for yoga🙏🏽

❤️TJ

25/11/2023

Hello 👋

Today's rain has made for favourable softened soil conditions in my garden. Just what I needed to tend to the thistles growing wild in areas. Another day of weeding tomorrow will give many of our plants the breathing and growing space they need for summer. Yoga will be back next week🙏🏽

Here's to the simple, wildly soothing, softening work of tending to one's weeds. Literally... and metaphorically💚

Got weeds?

Softly,
TJ
