Tasmanian Rock Clocks
I create clocks, incense burners and other oddities from natural stone and wood sourced locally.
Looking forward to this.
Have you seen our Fantastic Roadside signs around town?
WINTER MAKERS MARKET - Saturday 27th
9:30am - 3pm over 70 stall full of wonderful handmade treasures. Food - Coffee - Live Jazz Music.
Made a few bigger rock dudes. The three with the largest eyes have glow in the dark eyes.
Created another rock clock that looks a bit like Tassie. It hangs on a simple timber base or could be hung on the wall as it is not overly heavy.
I was harvesting rocks when I had an awesome wildlife encounter. Two young wombats nearly ran into me. The first one nearly hit my leg and stopped but took off before I could get my phone. This video shows the second one run one way then change his mind.
Looking forward to this.

Set up at Longford Design Market. Come along and say hi.
“Rock Paper Scissors “ is a novelty item I have only just made, they will be available in limited numbers at the next market I go to which will be in Longford on Saturday 29th June.
It's hard to describe the feeling to someone who doesn't experience it, but it's the pen clicking or tissue wringing or general fidgeting that somehow soothes the Mind a little when anxious, stressed or nervous.
The weight, temperature, mixture of smooth and rough textures combined with the size make this an effective and discrete fidget item that I find useful.
Combine this with a bit of fun with some goofy eyes and you have "fidget friends". They come in a range of sizes so that you can find one that works for you.
They are made of dolerite stone and have a polished surface with glass eyes that protude slightly to add to the tactile sensation.
This is the latest “stoner” of quite a few that will be available at the next market I attend or online if people are happy to pay postage. I am also working on a different product which will be revealed soon.
I made this tiny little fellow knowing full well that my wife would think he was cute and add him to her personal collection of Rock Dudes.
A few more stone creations to put away with the others until the next market I go to. Feel like I am being watched when I go into the container.
My first custom design for a customer. They are very happy with the result.
Only a few days to go until Launceston’s largest craft market with over 70 stalls showcasing Tasmania’s finest Artisans…..
Looking for that special gift? Or a unique piece for home?
Your bound to find what your looking for at The Tassie Makers Festival Saturday Match 23 9am - 3pm at The Door of Hope Complex.
Looking forward to The Tassie Makers Festival, seeing all the amazing things people make and showcasing the stuff I make. I have some new things to show alongside what I normally bring.
From picking the raw material to testing the function of the final product.
Looks pretty happy sitting watching over the rock dudes
Another new stoner, the smoke drifts out his nostrils and mouth. A very different look for an incense burner.
A very basic stone ash catcher for incense sticks, the base has been leveled and feet added for a stable base but the top remains as weathered stone. It is $10 and comes with a sample incense stick. I had a question about ash catcher incense holders at the last market I attended. I’m not sure if this raw stone style or a more carved and shaped style is what they were after.
Some of the incense has at last arrived for use in the incense burners.
Come check us out at Tasmanian makers festival Christmas markets here til 3 today and tomorrow.
Looking forward to The Tassie Makers Festival Christmas market this weekend with more rock dudes and some new creations.
I really like how this one turned out. As soon as I saw the rock I could see what I wanted it to be. It took a long time to make because this lump of quartz with all its character was incredibly hard to drill even with the diamond drills.
An experiment to see if I could. Let’s see the wind move this solar ornament. I learned some things that will make future attempts a bit easier. Would be better if I can get the solar bit without my wife sacrificing her ornaments to the wind.
“Stoner” incense burner I made this afternoon along with a few rock dudes.
Made a few rock dudes today and some Bases (necks) for the incense burners(stoners).
New Stoner I made today. They are definitely a different incense burner to the norm, made of natural stone including the base. I think they have a real character.
Off in the morning to set up our stall at the The Tassie Makers Festival. Looking forward to showing our creations.
This clock is a little different and has a bit more colour. Glow in the dark hands and reference marks. It is free standing with a small air plant on the side.
