Allbarrenone
Looking for perfection? This is not the page for you. Imperfectly perfect? WELCOME!! All things Barre, Subversive Wellness and a S**t Tonne of fun!!
In Australia today it's RU OK day.
A day that encourages people to reach out and ask that simple question.
Of course, it's not always a simple answer.
And not being OK, is also OK.
And maybe the person you might need to check in with, is yourself?
❤️❤️❤️
Two new routines to launch tonight.
Can't wait to see how my new Reformer and then Reformer Flow classes go with the members.
*especially the surprise blankets for savasana at the end of the Flow!
A new 'do'.
launceston had a play with my hair this week during our time together.
What do you think?
Sometimes change can feel scary.
Sometimes you just lean into the glam.
Next up....

Upcoming Class date options!
Tell me what you think.
Do these days and times work for you?
Drop a comment below to let me know what day and class you're coming along to! 😊❤️🤗
REST Yoga - Sunday 19th May 6pm (limit 15 people)
Slightly Sweary Yoga - Tuesday 21st May 5.15pm (limit 7 people)
*these are dates I've chosen around school holidays, Mothers day and (quite frankly) my Netflix viewing schedule 😁 but if we have enough interest, we can look at other times.
Annie needs your help!
She's really keen to offer another round of RESTorative Yoga sessions in the next few months and would like to see what interest people have in coming along - enough interest, we'll make it happen!
It will most likely be on a Sunday afternoon/early evening and run for around 90 minutes or so.
The other question is this - would anyone be up for trying a Yoga session with a bit of a difference?
These will be smaller classes (say 6-8 people tops), again of a Sunday.
If you're wondering what the 'difference' might be - WELL.....if you've met Annie, you know that she has a penchant for colourful language so... she proposes to offer a class of 'Slightly Sweary Yoga' for people to come along, move a little and laugh a lot! 😁😁😁
No pressure to perform, no pretzel shapes, no experience necessary - just a willingness to give it a go.
Dates for any sessions will be offered up once we know folks are interested so please pop a 'REST' or 'HELL YEAH' (or both!) in the comments to let us know.
See you on the mat soon!
Just arrived hot in my inbox!
From September last year to now - what a journey it's been with !
I have really loved my time learning with them and I
can't wait to continue that education going forward.
The support and generosity with sharing their knowledge and skills throughout this whole process from Barre Body Teacher Training has been amazing.
A special Thankyou to Sara, Liana, Sam, Bek and Emma S for the time you gave us in person in Byron and for the ongoing support post course.
Now...... what next I wonder......? 🤔 😁
So, yesterday I spent the day unable to stand fully upright.
At nearly 49 I am still suffering occasionally from period pain so severe, it stops my day.
Ladies, almost every one of you knows it and Guys, almost every one of you has seen it.
Today I'm feeling a lot better but still tender and also a little sore across my back and neck from being curled up in misery and hating all of mankind.
These are some of my go to gentle movements to ease me back into the world.
The only rules, be kind to your body and how you're feeling and find what works for you.
Take a long as you need in any shape or movement.
1. Gentle knee walks - slow and steady
2. Knee squeezes - small or big enough to lift your tailbone a little off the floor
3. Knee circles - start really small and grow as big as feels good and be sure to go both directions
4. Windscreen Wipers - feet wider than your hips. Take one knee then other to the side, use your breath to really help you here. Arms can feel nice above your head. Feel free to take a longer hold on each side
5. Crossed knee spinal twist - if you feel up for a deeper twist. Do both sides (I've only shown one) with an option to transition into butterfly
6. Childs Pose - the perfect pose to stretch the lower back and hips and to shut the world away. Knees can be together or take them wide if that feels better
Let me know how you go. Know you are not alone.
When your office looks like this.....
looking good on a Summer afternoon in Tassie.
This should totally be a thing.

Excited for Launnie with this new look space offering my favourite style of class.
Launceston offers such an amazing range of classes now, from some amazing studios, and I'm so lucky to get to work (play) with some of them.
Do you dig our Vinyasa and Slow Flow classes? The intentional, embodied movement that makes you feel alive in your skin and at ease in your mind?
If so, we think you’ll love our new Barre offering, a class built around the slow, purposeful burn with the space to learn each movement and feel confident in the alignment of your body and all it is capable of.
Join us in studio next Wednesday, January 10th at 11:30am for our first 45 minute Barre Flow class with , followed by nibbles and refreshments 🌱🌟🌸
Limited spaces available so reserve your spot now through MINDBODY 🫶🏻
More exciting scheduled classes to come—stay tuned, movers!
For my last post for the year, I tried to think of something clever, something attention grabbing, something witty, something WORTHWHILE to say.
But I realised I would probably end up sounding like everyone else at this time of year.
So I'd like to share some of my favourite art from Iuliastration from the year instead.
I think they say it all better than I could anyway.
A remix of Christmas past....
I rewatched this video from last year and it still makes me giggle.
(and all the ladies are just KILLING it!)
Hope you enjoy too.
A wonderful finish to everyone's year and I can't wait to see what 2024 might bring.
How to distract your Ladies when running POWER classes this time of year.
Although I totally forgot about my 'ears' and wandered back to the car with them on.
🎄
Don't forget to practice a little 'shelf' care.
As we start the glide (or, if you prefer - careen wildly out of control, screaming incoherently at the universe) into the final two weeks of this year - carve out some time away from your to do list, your gift shopping, gift wrapping, pet wrangling, parking conjuring, food prep, constant planning and next level family management tasks to just ✋️.
Grab a quiet spot, a cuppa, some cool tunes and just breathe.
Even 5 or 10 minutes will change your day.
The world will wait.
I ❤️ a well thumbed, well loved reference book.
You just know there's good stuff inside.
Thankyou for the lend .yoga_ayurveda
Not just me, right?
Best. Song. Ever.
A little fun with this month's routine.
Ski Ramps.
They look innocent enough, but the 🔥🔥 is real!
Overhand grip. Feet in turnout, close to the wall.
Resist bending at the hips - press your belly towards the barre.
Long spine, shoulders square.
Knees bend to slide you under.
Option: underhand grip and lift those heels!
The incline bicep pulls at the end finish things off nicely then it's time to rock out!
When Christmas comes a little early (and I don't mean seeing Gingerbread Houses in Coles supermarket in October).
The newest member of our household arrived unexpectedly today - thankyou to for getting my bed to me a month early!
It's settled into its new home pretty well - despite being a little snug - and I've already practiced the class I'm running later today!
Claymore the cat has given his sniff of approval, so I think we are all set.
Yes!
Now, to get moving and flowing!
When you come into the studio to set up....
And end up with fresh garden lemons and an Emotional Support Pickle.
Thanks
for my goodies!
Filmed yesterday for my latest teacher training assessment.
Could not be more proud of these ladies and so grateful for their time and trust.
It's nearly Halloween.
You've done a cracking playlist.
You have no dance training in your background but you watched Thriller three hundred times as a kid....
When you run a class that finishes at 11am and are Bavarian Bar Wenching at 11 30am.....
