📚 Anchored in History: A 2017 Print Throwback! 📚

We’re taking a trip down memory lane to 2017 when we had the honour of both designing and printing The Tamar Yacht Club: A History of Sailing in Launceston Tasmania From 1837 by Julian Burgess. This meticulously researched book, published by Christopher (Gus) Green OAM, offers a captivating journey through the rich and storied past of the Tamar Yacht Club, which proudly holds the title of one of Australia’s oldest yacht clubs. From its humble beginnings in 1837, the club has been a cornerstone of the local maritime community, playing a pivotal role in shaping the culture of sailing and yachting in Launceston.

Through detailed accounts of key figures like William Lushington Goodwin, a ship’s captain, journalist, and newspaper owner, the book brings to life the vibrant history of the Tamar River and the community that grew around it. With tales of early regattas, fierce rivalries, and the club’s evolution over the decades, this book is a treasure trove for anyone interested in Tasmania’s maritime heritage.
