Walk with Lisa
I empower parents to compassionately show up for themselves so they can enjoy parenthood.
This just popped into my head and heart today, and I hope the stars align for you and you can join us spontaneously.
This is an informal hang. We will chat and journal and snack on a big picnic rug ๐ tomorrow, 5th of November, at the Botanical Gardens in Geelong.
This is purely for my love of nature, art, and connection - I promise I am not going to sell you anything.
DM for the exact place and time.
I would love to see you there,
Lisa ๐ธ
I have been asked many times in the past few weeks when I will be running my groups again. And I just want to let you know that I will be back! Not right away but I am planning on bringing the groups back because they are just pure love.
So, bear with me while we are doing the final push on our housebuild /extension /renos and once we return to normalcy, I will plan the next creative journaling group for mothers.
I just know how meaningful they are and every time I speak about them I get goosebumps because of the sacred power they hold.
I have such a passion for supporting mothers in claiming their right to live a joyful life, for authentic sharing and space holding with love - I need this in my life ๐โค๏ธ๐ฉท
See you soon xx
Fresh sheets, hot cup of tea, and peace and quiet - i just enjoyed this combination for a vouple of hours today, and it was the best Sunday afternoon in a while ๐
I found myself in an unexpected gap. Between mopping the floors and meal planning the next week all of a sudden I was all by myself at home and realised it would probably be like that for a couple of hours. The excitement about the peace and quiet was rushing through my system.
I asked myself:"How can I show myself love today?"
And this is what I came up with:
- a guided meditation in bed ๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธ
- a lovely cup of tea ๐ต
- some creative journaling ๐จ
- connecting with some friends via voice messages ๐
Pure bliss.
I found my cup filled and able to pour generously when my girls came home.
I have been im DOING mode for a while now and struggled to fit in BEING lately. How is your ratio of DOING and BEING right now?
Mine looks like this:
Doing ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ 90 %
Being ๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธ 10 %
Today was an attempt to evening out this scale โ๏ธ ๐
Let me know how you are going in the comments ๐๐ฝ
Parts work (IFS Therapy), EMDR, creative journaling, and dancing! What a combo! This is how I healed a part of me that was still stuck in a traumatic time postpartum.
Healing takes time and patience. It's not a straightforward process, and it can, at times, leave you desperate and hopeless.
The modalities I have used for this particular puzzle piece are fascinating, and I am in awe of how our world provides. How we are divinely guided towards healing when we tune in and listen.
I believe that we all have the ability to do this, to heal ourselves and to find our very own unique and surprising path towards wholeness within.
What you see here in the sketch on the left is the transformation of a part of me called 'The Godmother' into her true self 'The Aunty'. The Godmother was very strict, harsh and stoic. She believed that good parents are vigilant all the time and was basing her beliefs in fear. The Aunty is a fun-loving, dancing, baking, and happy protector who is anchored in connection.
It took me (and will take me) a lot of work to get her to trust me enough to let go of the burdens placed on her by traumatic experiences.
This healing work is hard. And it is absolutely magnificent at the same time.

When life gives you lemons... get curious!
Be with the lemons.
What do they feel like?
Where about in my body can I sense them?
What is its shape? Colour? Weight?
Does it feel familiar?
What else is here?

I loved experimenting with my love for sketching and illustrating to create a personal birthday card for my beautiful friend.
It's still a work in progress, but I loved making it and gifting it. A very personal and meaningful little gift ๐ฅฐ
I am sorry I can't. I have plans.
The plans...
;)
I turned 37 years old and I reflected on my birthday on the last year. What did I learn? What were the lessons I had to go through? How did I manage them? What do I want to change in the next year? What am I still working on? What moments did I enjoy?
It was so great to have my journal to go through to help me remember where I was a year ago, six months ago, and so on. I love that I will have a journal with poems, drawings, paintings, collages, and reflections to remember what it was like to be me at that time.
I cherish my journal like a treasure, and I will maintain it going forward. It is such a meaningful keepsake for me. I love flicking through the pages.
If you want to create your own personal creative journal, then now is your chance! Either start on your own or come to one of my groups and get creative alongside other mums.
7pm- 8.30pm Mondays online and
11.30am - 1.30pm Monday in person in Ocean Grove.
Tickets are now available online.

This isn't just another meditation circle. This space was created for you to experience deep connection to yourself and other mums. To gently recentre and recharge in motherhood.
Eve & Lisa ๐ซ๐ป
Today was so confirming for me: this is needed. This is important. You need to keep doing this!
And I also want to give a shout out to two absolute legends who are contributing to making the world a better, healthier, safer place for mums:
Liz from .au and Lauren from . Both these amazing women and experienced therapists have a similar vision to me: creating supportive groups for mothers in all seasons of motherhood where they can express themselves with Art.
Lauren loves poetry and is very skillful with words, and Liz is a gifted musician who loves singing. They have created groups in their communities (Coburgand Torquay), and I want to encourage you to give them a follow if you haven't already.
They are warm, empathetic, and funny. They are mums and artists, and they have a passion for supporting others.

Hi! I am so happy about everyone who decides my content is worth a follow! My little page is organically growing slowly and I appreciate the genuine comments and messages I get to receive here. ๐ฉท
Thank you for being here! ๐ผ
One thing I have not mentioned in those slides๐๐ฝ is how important it is for me to see everything in relationship to and within a system. For example, our experience with motherhood in a patriarchal materialistic system. ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Say 'hi', I love hearing from you and connecting on here and in real life! ๐๐ฝ
Lisa ๐ป
Here's the thing: self-love is actually essential for your well-being. It means treating yourself with kindness, understanding, and respect. It allows you to set healthy boundaries, make good choices for yourself, and build healthy relationships.
So, how can you approach self-love in a way that feels genuine?
โก Prioritise activities that nourish your mind, body, and spirit. This could be anything from getting enough sleep to pursuing a hobby you enjoy.
โก We all make mistakes, so be kind to yourself when you mess up. Talk to yourself the way you would talk to a loved one who's going through a tough time.
โก Acknowledge your positive qualities and accomplishments.
โก Set Boundaries: Learn to say no and prioritise your needs. This is not selfish, it's self-respectful.
You can practise self-love in so many different ways, it is important you find what is most supportive to you and learn to listen to your needs.
If you have trouble figuring out how to love yourself - I can help you with that.

One day to go :) remember:
The is one week of ..putting you first!..intentionally checking in with yourself and your needs...delegating tasks (esp mental load)..simply doing things later, AFTER you have taken care of you.
Share your moments of defiance with us by tagging or using the hastag
We want to gift you a free guide to take time out for you, use the link in my bio to request it.

Please share this far and wide! This beautiful circle needs more mums to come along. Get creative, relax, chat, sip your cuppa and connect โจ๏ธ
Here are some more tips for a walking meditation:
๐ถโโ๏ธ minimise opportunities for distraction
๐ถโโ๏ธ keep your eyes soft and your gaze out infront of you
๐ถโโ๏ธ create an awareness of every body part involved in every step
๐ถโโ๏ธ walk extremely slowly to really tune in
๐ถโโ๏ธ you can do this for any length of time that feels good to you
Enjoy โจ๏ธ

Such beautiful feedback from the legends that came to the first Maternal Journal session in Ocean Grove today.
It is so nice to see that what I imagined came true today. I feel so happy!
Now, to make it a regular thing.
If you are local, please spread the word. Please come. I am sure you will get so much out of it. โก
The link to sign up for the next sessions is in my bio.

Of course, we all deserve a safe space to explore what we are going through.
After the recent newspaper articles, I feel the need to clearly say that these workshops are literally for EVERY mum. Somehow, my own story was mixed up with the Maternal Journal Workshops, and I don't want anyone to think that this group wouldn't be right for them because of it.
This workshop is for you, if
you are pregnant for the first time or pregnant again
your children have grown and flown the nest
you are a single, adoptive, or stepmother
you are a gender non-conforming or trans birth parent
you are a D/deaf or disabled mother
you are a Black, brown, or white mother
you are a mother or birth parent with a diagnosis or caring for a child with a diagnosis
you have experienced pregnancy loss
money is tight
you are in a new neighbourhood
your birth didn't go to plan or if it did
people expected too much of you, or you expected too much of yourself
you are a mother artist or were told you werenโt creative at school
things are just very hard right now; or generally fine; or if you are elated, anxious, joyous, lonely, exhausted, in love, overwhelmed, or underwhelmed
This is for you!
Next workshop is at the start of March - you can sign up now. The link is in my bio.
