As of Tuesday 11th April, Gum Tree Family Medical are unable to offer Telephone Consultations unless requested by your Doctor. There may be a fee involved.

Covid19 and Flu Alert

Please do NOT enter the clinic if you have any of the following symptoms:
• Fever
• Cough
• Runny Nose
• Sore/scratchy throat
• Loss of taste or smell
• Any cold or flu like symptoms

It is important to Gum Tree Family Medical to protect our patients and staff. Please do not come into the practice with any cold or flu like symptoms, even if you have had a negative RAT test as they can sometimes give an incorrect result. Please advise reception of your symptoms when phoning.

Essential Energy have advised us that Wednesday 8th December there will be a power outage in our area of Goonellabah from 9.00am to 1.00pm.

Due to the power outage Gum Tree Medical will be closed Wednesday from 9.00am to 2.00pm.

ALERT:

Patients with a Southern Cross Credit Union bank card are no longer able to claim their Medicare rebate on the spot.

Unfortunately, there have been changes made to your bank card which means we will now have to send your Medicare claim online manually which means it will take up to 72 hours for you to receive your rebate rather than immediately.

We apologise for the inconvenience but unfortunately it is beyond our control.

Below is an excerpt from the Southern Cross Credit Union website which states the changes.

"While you will no longer be able to receive Medicare refunds directly to your VISA Debit Card, they can still be refunded to your account. You just need to ensure that Medicare has our BSB (722-744) and your 9-digit account number."
