**BOOK PARADE - Week 6, Wednesday 21st August**

It's that time of year to get your book costumes ready! Our parade for Pre-primary to year 6 is just around the corner.

Please be sure that students are in school appropriate costumes on the day (this includes closed in footwear. No swords or weapons please).

We're looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up.
Families are welcome to attend the parade in the undercover area on the day.

I would encourage parents to consider visiting this wonderful event!!

For those who are entitled to the W.A Student Assistance Payment and have not yet claimed it…

This is your reminder to claim it, and if you’re in the position where you feel someone else’s child may need it more than yours, I encourage you, to please donate it🙌

I did, and I have had many people in our community who have reached out and done the same.

We have children in Mandurah who are going to school hungry, without jumpers, shoes, socks and the necessary stationary items they need to learn and thrive.

This money can make a HUGE difference in their lives…

It can also be donated to the many charities across Mandurah that are doing all they can to walk along side our communities most vulnerable.

You'll get $150 for each kid in kindy to year 6, and $250 for each kid in year 7 to 12 - to help with those extra school expenses.

To claim the payments, the State Government encourage parents and carers to set up a ServiceWA account. You can find more information at wa.gov.au/servicewaapp.

**LOST PROPERTY**

We have a huge amount of lost property over at library. Please make sure you come to check for any lost items before the end of the week. All items will be disposed of or donated at the end of the term.

It's time to find those overdue library books!

If your child has not yet returned their library book, can you please take the time to check under beds, in cupboards and mixed in with other books from home. If they can be returned to the library or to their classroom teacher this week before school holidays start, that would be fantastic!
If you have lost your book, please let Mrs Vas in the library know, or you are welcome to replace it with a similar book from Kmart or Big W etc.

*CHEESEBURGER FUNDRAISER*

Our Cheeseburger fundraiser lunch will be on Wednesday 12th June. If your child would like to order a burger, please fill out the order form that went home with them. If you need a new one, please see our helpful staff in the front office.

If your child will be 4 years old by 30th June 2025, you can come and pick up an Application for Enrolment from our front office or download one online from our school website: ApplicationforEnrolmentFormDesign-Primary.pdf (mandurahps.wa.edu.au)

When submitting your application, you will need to provide the following supporting documents:

* Your child’s Birth Certificate
* A copy of your child's Immunisation History Statement (Available through MyGov)

Did you know Mother’s Day is next Sunday 12th May?!

We will have our Mother’s Day stall running every day next week before school.
Monday 6th May - Friday 10th May (or until stock runs out!).

We have some gorgeous items available this year. Make sure you get in early, limited quantities available.

Ten of our year 6 student leaders met at 5am to represent MPS at the Mandurah Dawn service, our school captains and Mrs Upcott laid the wreath on behalf of our school.

They were accompanied by Mrs Upcott, Mr Garrett, Mrs Marjoram, Captain Marjoram and Mrs Murphy.
