TODAY!
Come celebrate National Reconciliation Week with Nidjalla and grab a hearty feed at the same time.
Starts at 12pm. Please share.
Did you hear about the Reconciliation Week lunch at Nidjalla?
You are invited and please bring your family and friends.
Starts at 12pm - first in gets the beanie!
Thirty-two Aboriginal children from Mandurah Primary School, Greenfields Primary School and Pinjarra Primary School took part in the Deadly Koolinga Chef Program Art Narrative Program. Three workshops were held at each school, and they were facilitated by Mrs Gloria Kearing (Bindjareb woman Elder and artist). Mrs Kearing taught the children how to paint their stories of the DKCP cooking experiences using Noongar Aboriginal art symbolism.
The City of Mandurah and the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre are proudly sponsoring an exhibition of the students’ DKCP art narratives from June 5 - June 30, 2024. The exhibition will be opened by Mayor Rhys Williams on Wednesday June 5 from 1230 - 1400 at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.
Ten Aboriginal children from Mandurah Primary School will be giving a cooking demonstration at the opening using the DKCP pop up kitchen equipment. The children will be cooking a hearty healthy kangaroo stew for all the guests at the opening to sample.
Uncle George spotted out and about.
What are you doing for Reconciliation Week? Come down to Nidjalla this Thursday for a yarn and a delicious lunch.
These beanies, shown here by these deadly models, are also up for grabs.
Your Thursday is now taken care of - tell your mates! Bring a gang!
The National Reconciliation Week theme for 2024, Now More Than Ever, is a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will —and must —continue.
As Nidjalla moves into being an ACCHO, now more than ever, we need to work together to progress our health and wellbeing service to being community controlled.
Now more than ever, the work continues. In treaty making, in truth-telling, in understanding our history, in education, and in tackling racism. We need connection. We need respect. We need action. And we need change.
Now more than ever, we need reconciliation.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mums!

At GP down south, it is our mission to make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of those experiencing, or at risk of, poor health outcomes in our communities.
That’s why we are highlighting the ongoing disparities that exist between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians by marking National Close the Gap Day (21st March).
Close the Gap Day is a day of action aimed at closing the gap in health outcomes between First Nations and non-Indigenous people. It is held annually on the third Thursday in March.
The campaign was started by Oxfam Australia and is now supported by a range of organisations and individuals across the country.
The aim of Close the Gap Day is to raise awareness of the health and social inequalities faced by First Nations people, and to encourage people to take action to address these issues.
GP down south listens, acknowledges the ongoing inequities, and is committed to action. Mob deserves better.
Happy International Women's Day.
Women are the backbone of any family. So make sure you let the women in your life know you appreciate them. May your girls grow into strong yorgas with bright futures.
REgardless of whether you identify as female, we are here to help with your health and wellbeing.
