Riding For the Disabled Maryborough, Qld
To provide a safe, professional, and friendly environment for all disabled riders – from the first
To be a base for equestrian pursuits in the Maryborough area, to provide an accessible and friendly, informative club atmosphere for all interested disabled people of all ages, ability and socio-economic background.
Thanks Maryborough, you have done it again. You voted for us in the Commonwealth Bank Community Donations Program and we won!
On Saturday Karen and Mel came out to RDA to give us the good news we had received most votes and therefore the prize of $5,000 is ours. The funds will go towards a roof for our new ramp so our riders stay dry while getting on their horse. A special thanks to Karen who was very enthusiastic about getting people to vote while they were in the Bank.
On Saturday we did the filming for our Riding for the Disabled Association of Queensland State Champs. Here is a little peek at some of our riders and volunteers getting ready. All our riders were extremely smart. Our horses looked very clean and shiny thanks to the hard work of our dedicated volunteers.
Thanks Llew O'Brien MP for your continued support.
Sadly it is time for us to say goodbye to Buddie and help him over the rainbow bridge.
Buddie has been retired for the last 18 months and recently his health has started to decline. If anyone would like to say goodbye to Buddie we will be at RDA this Friday or next Tuesday from 8:00 until 11:00.
He joined us in 2009 and has been the most perfect RDA horse. He was happy to take riders who had high support needs, needed the hoist to mount, were unbalanced or vocal and he also enjoyed taking more active riders for their lessons. He assisted in giving riders the confidence to ride independently, trot, participate in competitions and generally improve their riding skills or just sit a little taller in the saddle. He also loves a cuddle by anyone, rider or volunteer.
Thank you everyone who came out to support us at our Garage Sale. Due to your generosity we raised over $4,000!

Happy birthday to our beautiful horses.
You are the stars of our program with your amazing empathy, tolerance, willingness and ability to take care of your rider whether they are enjoying a trail ride, playing games or learning their dressage for competition.
https://reefnbeefphotography.pixieset.com/rda/ took some amazing photos at the sports day we were invited to at Riding For The Disabled Hervey Bay. We took 3 riders - Carrissa, Evie and Sophie and 2 horses - Snow and TJ. They all enjoyed themselves. Thanks Joe, Noel, Rosie, and Carol for coming to help, it was appreciated. You can see all the photos by clicking on the reef 'n' beef link.

thanks for supporting us Poona, you are a wonderful community.
Thanks to the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal's grant of $10,000.00 we have a lovely new sprinkler system for our indoor arena. This makes a huge difference to the dust generated while using the arena.
