Riding For the Disabled Maryborough, Qld

Sadly it is time for us to say goodbye to Buddie and help him over the rainbow bridge.
Buddie has been retired for the last 18 months and recently his health has started to decline. If anyone would like to say goodbye to Buddie we will be at RDA this Friday or next Tuesday from 8:00 until 11:00.
He joined us in 2009 and has been the most perfect RDA horse. He was happy to take riders who had high support needs, needed the hoist to mount, were unbalanced or vocal and he also enjoyed taking more active riders for their lessons. He assisted in giving riders the confidence to ride independently, trot, participate in competitions and generally improve their riding skills or just sit a little taller in the saddle. He also loves a cuddle by anyone, rider or volunteer.

It is that time again, we are having another Giant Garage Sale on 31 August.

We have the following rugs for sale as well as 2 saddles and various items of tack - see comments for photos. All rugs are in good condition, see list for prices and any damage. All funds raised go towards our riding program. Available at our Garage sale if not sold prior.

You are the stars of our program with your amazing empathy, tolerance, willingness and ability to take care of your rider whether they are enjoying a trail ride, playing games or learning their dressage for competition.

We took 3 riders - Carrissa, Evie and Sophie and 2 horses - Snow and TJ. They all enjoyed themselves. Thanks Joe, Noel, Rosie, and Carol for coming to help, it was appreciated. To celebrate National Volunteers Week we had a lovely morning tea on Tuesday. The Friday people will get theirs a week late due to Show Day.
Our volunteers are fantastic people. Each and every one is appreciated for the part they play in ensuring we can deliver our program.
They are kind, caring, enthusiastic and willing to assist in ensuring our riders, their families and support people have a positive experience when they are us. Our ride day people assist with the smooth running of the lessons and all that involves. Our Friday volunteers maintain our grounds and buildings to a very high standard , they do whatever needs doing without a lot of fuss or fanfare. The administration team ensure our paperwork, accounts, grant applications and all the other office functions are keep up to date and we meet our legal requirements.

Thank you very much everyone who supported our garage sale on Saturday. Whether you are one of our awesome volunteers who helped set it up, manned the different areas on the day and tidied up afterwards or someone who came and found a bargain on Saturday we appreciate your generosity.
We raised nearly $4,000 to help support our riding program for disabled children and adults in the Maryborough area.

As part of our Garage sale next Saturday 11 May here is a small selection of the huge selection of rugs and tack we have for sale. All sale items are in good condition and priced to sell, some of the rugs have small repairs. The rugs range from 5'.00" to 6'.9".

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of a much loved former rider. Rose (or Rosie as we all called her) was a delight to have had in our lives. It took a little bit of persuasion to initially get her on a horse for the first time but once on she loved it. We all looked forward to seeing her each week with her cheeky grin and joy for life. RIP Rose, you were a ray of sunshine to many

Start getting excited people - we are having another of our amazing Garage Sales on 11 May from 7:00 until 12:00 😍👏. As usual there will be amazing bargains including horse gear, plants, furniture, stuff to use outdoors, stuff to use indoors, clothes, books and much more.

Making the horse version of 'sand angels' and relaxing after working. A roll is always wonderful after you have just been washed, dried and groomed. ☺️☺️

First ride of the year done and dusted. It was a great day.
